going yesterday to the airport to pick up hubby, torrential rain was so heavy that I coud not drive and had to stop for minutes several times on the way, on the way back around 4 PM we saw a lot of streets flowded, cars with the cater up to the door handle, cars parking in the middle of Tulum Av.,etc.

Must say that HZ is OK, some water before El Embarcadero bridge and of course the Pok ta pok gulf camp seems like lagoon.

I decide that if it keeped raining at night I will not take the risk of taking kids to school, it rained all night so kis are home.

Today is overcast but stop raining since 7 AM, hight tide and soft wind.

thanks for the updates ... I am scheduled to arrive tomorrow night ...

Any sign of the rain letting up?
Do you think the roads will still be flooded when I arrive?
Its not so bad that I wont be able to get to the hotel is it?

thanks again for all the info!

The rain is still here  Last night there were clear skies for a while so I thought we would be back to normal today, but no.

Nothing like it was with only gentle rain on and off. The floods, at least round here, have subsided. The HZ is largely unaffected as will be the airport road. Downtown is where the flooding is/was.

If you look at the satellite map you will see the storm is now out into the Gulf, but there are still some outer bands passing through. You can also see a patch of clearer weather to the southeast that seems to be heading our way.

Right now at 14:46 it's 80F and overcast with light rain.

Weather getting back to normal but not quite there yet. A few rain showers this morning but, at last, the first glimpse of blue sky in several days. 83F now at 13:53. Here is a pic of the sky taken a few minutes ago:
