I saw some of the destruction in Grand Cayman while we were there in February. It was terrible.......I pray they don't get hit again!
Just to add, no sign of Hurricane Dennis here, at 18:32 local time temp is 85.6F, a gentle breeze and isolated white clouds on a bright blue sky. It has been hot and sunny all day with a max of 93F...... just like yesterday
it's time Bags are packed, leaving Ottawa at 7:00am - ETA in Cancun 19:30pm I am so excited... Thanks for the the good tips leading up to the trip and making me feel better about the weather. You guys have an awesome site See on the beaches!
Sunny and hot Saturday, Temp is 93°, no wind at all in the afternoon, ocean is back to calm, normal and friendly and no clouds in the sky.
Ana you said the ocean was calm -- is this considered calm? I'm at the Westin (southern tip) and I thought the waves were pretty serious - biggies up to 8 feet.
Ana lives on the bay side at about Km 6, the waves are always smaller there than on the ocean side as this area is sheltered from the full force of the sea by Isla Mujeres. We were at Ana's beautiful house on Friday for lunch (yeah, another lunch with board members - tough job but someone has to do it!) and the waves were only just topping over - compared to today around the ocean side the bay side waves were very small. Ana's husband had been out deepwater fishing that day so I am also sure the waves have increased today due to the Hurricane passing through a couple of hundred miles away or so.
More of the same yesterday and today. Hot and sunny, bright blue skies. Current temp at 11:46am is 93F. High over the last 48 hours has been 95F and low 79F.
