Cancun weather 6/20-6/25 I know that it's impossible to judge the weather in Cancun but I have to say that my husband and I go to Cancun every year and by far this year the weather seems to be the most unstable. Every year we go and they say that there is a 30% change of showers and it very rarely rains. This year I'm a bit concerned. We leave on Monday (6/20) and I'm seriously thinking about changing our reservation and to Cabo. Any advice??? Thanks
Ana is in Miami for a few days so I am your local weather reporter again. The last two days have been hot and sunny, clear blue skies and a gentle breeze - no sign of any rain. Temps have been Max 94.6F, Min 81.3F and right now at 9:16pm it is 84.4F. I am sure weatherdood will correct me if I'm wrong but my understanding is '60% chance of showers' means there is a 60% chance of there being a shower - that shower might only be for 5 minutes. It doesnt mean there will be showers for 60% of the day. It was a little unusual last week, although at this time of year it is to be expected, in that Tropical Storm Arlene passed close by and she gave us several days of wet weather. As far as I know there are no tropical storms forming at the moment that could pass close to Cancun in the foreseeable future. At this time of year it gets very humid and that often leads to a quick shower that may last up to an hour or so. I think that is far more likely to be the type of weather you will encounter than heavy down pours every day. Toollover - As for what to do at BBG when it rains, well the bars have a roof and the pool is still warm! - they may move the daily games inside if it is really heavy, but it's fun nonetheless. lvarian - Don't go to Cabo their beaches and nightlife can not surpass Cancun in any way.
The weather the last 2 days has been glorious, very hot clear blue skies with a few puffy white clouds to give you the occasional break from the intense sun. Yetserday was the hottest day of the year so far on my digital thermometer with the high being 96.4F, only to be beaten today with a current high of 97.3F at 12:49pm
Weather 11-18 Jun Just got back from our week in Cancun. Although our weather forecast had said rain, rain and more rain, we had a total of about 15 minutes worth of rain ALL WEEK! It rained Sunday at 7:00a.m. for about 5 minutes, Monday btwn 1p.m. and 2p.m. for the same and Tuesday btwn 4p.m. and 4:30p.m. again for 5 minutes. CANCUN was GREAT!
CRAZY CANCUN WEATHER!!!!!!!!! HELP!!! We leave for Cancun tomorrow (6/20) and there is some big major storm system moving in. Anytime we travel to Cancun we always expect some rain but this looks really bad. Anyone got the inside scoop? Just trying to see if we need to bring our slickers or sunscreen. thanks :
Ivarian, read the recent weather report from dymonnprl that is right above your post. They posted that report 5 hours before you posted your question. You can't get any more recent than that.
I read the post above mine before I submitted my post. The weather gods looked down on them however if you have checked the weather lately, there is a storm right over the Yucatan that they are monitoring for a tropical storm. Weather in Cancun can change in an instant. We've gone every year for the past 10+ years and I've never seen the weather as unstable as it is this year.
CANCUN WEATHER Just to let anyone know who might be traveling to Cancun this week, we were suppose to have flown out today but we are flying to Cabo on Sunday. The weather in Cancun right now is very unstable and they are watching a system brewing over the Yucatan for possible formation. I really don't think that much will come of it except for a lot of clouds and rain. Accoring to Steve, last week was great and my husband and I are very disappointed that we have to make alternate travel arrangements. We go to Cancun every year, the 3rd week in June, to celebrate our b-day's but this year the weather appears to be quite unsettled. Steve- We purchased the coupon book from you online but obviously we won't be needing it. Maybe we can just get one from you next year. I wanted to let you know so that you don't go to the trouble of having to drop it off. We're not worried about the $15 we'll just catch you next year. We love Cancun so we'll be back!!!!! 8) :? :?
Sorry I havent updated in the last day or two. A few hours after I made my last weather post regarding the bright sunny weather and hottest day of the year etc the rain clouds moved in. From 4pm Saturday the weather became overcast and the temperature dropped significantly to around 80 or so. Thunderstorms for much of Saturday night, Sunday was overcast again, little rain but no sun to be seen. Today, again it's overcast and there have been a few showers throughout the day, right now the temp is 80F and not a patch of blue sky to be seen. Lvarian, sorry you changed your plans - re the discount card if you can email me the name you made the order under I will get in touch with Brant.
