Thanks VanGuy! Rentals are crazy expensive because the gear is crazy expensive itself And I wouldn't trust any other gear than my own, I like my set up and feel safe with it... One thing is hauling quiver bag across the world for nothing or just a day of fun, but another is getting it lost by the airline... I'm dreading it as we have 3 flights to get to Cancun ahhh... what to do? what to do?... Steve reckons we will have too much fun to even think of kitesurfing! lol (he doesn't know we are addicts!) BTW we are hoping to hit Vancouver one summer for some kite and MTB action - it looks amazing!
For what they will charge you in baggage fees, depending on total weight, look into shipping it if you want. If you ship it UPS or FedEx ground, you can probably ship it insured for $30 each way directly to/from the hotel. I used to travel a lot for work, and sometimes would play in golf tournaments when travelling, and I would ship my golf bag to/from the hotel to avoid the airport hassle.
Vancouver is excellent for those activities. Second to nowhere in the world. Even if I am a little bit biased.
