Snapperheads, not only does your profile pic make me smile..I completely agree with your recommendations. The only problem we'll have T&JG if it rains is that the SEXLYMPICS 2012 competition will have to move indoors!! Are you ready for the "opening" ceremonies next Thursday??? See you guys in about a week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :bj:
Reading this, I realize my post wasn't really complete. What I meant to say is that the Weather Channel focuses its forecast on Cancun city, which is inland, and where it WILL likely rain. Understand that a 60% chance of rain doesn't mean 60% of the day it's going to rain with a 100% chance of it happening, but instead, it's just that - there's a better than even chance that Cancun CITY is going to get rain. Now that said, TTR is on the Hotel Zone island/peninsula/whateverthehellitis and it generally doesn't rain out there when rain is called for inland. One observation from our last two TTR trips, where every day there was a 30% chance of thunderstorms in the forecast (which is for Cancun CITY!) - every day those T-storm clouds would build up, and by mid/late afternoon, they'd block out the sun - which was a welcome respite. And maybe you'd hear it thunder in the distance. And that was it. Don't worry, it will be fine. And if it does rain, as I said, get naked and make the best of it!
The way a weather man explained it to me once at a fundraiser was that they look at the conditions for that day and compare it to X number of days in the past with similar conditions...if 60% of the time it rained on days with similar conditions, there's your 60%. I say if it starts raining heavily, you have a 100% chance of being naked in bed with someone. :3some:
Are you bringing the medals? Hope errbody is getting limbered up for this! Go Team Jdb! :flagusa: :cheerleaders: Jackie
Been there in Aug. and Sept. and stayed in Cancun more than 30 day over the last 10 years and most trips only seen less than 10 mins. of rain in a week. But the forcast calls for rain every day. Not for sure if I'm lucky or than just the way it happens. Last year it rained in the middle of the night several times and that was it.
Lotss of trip and we've d days rained out........but those were among our fav days filled with friends spending the day in our room!
We were a bit concerned before we left yesterday for Isla Mujeres (mostly due to the tropical storm that rained us out last October), but we are on Isla now and the sky quite literally looks like in Steve's picture. Considering it said 60% chance of rain for today you can probably ignore the forecast!!
hav n fun I've been to cancun over 60 times, and lived there for 2 months, like was stated before unless there's a hurricane floating around the area, you'll have know problem, just go and have a blast, I'll see everyone for Halloween and new yrs Mike
