Water Temp??

    We will be at the RPLA Feb 11-16. Will ocean be to cold for swimming?
    Hope this is not a dumb question. We were there in Aug. and it was better then awsome.

    The water is always around the same temp. So you should go for it as it will definitely be warmer than any pool in Cancun. :shock:

    If the water was always the same temperature we would either always have hurricanes or never have them. Hurricane season happens when the water temp is highest here since they only form when the surface temp is above 80°F/26°C.

    The warmest sea temps are from August through October and the coldest are from February through April. However even when the water is at its coldest the tourists all go in anyway, because it's not that cold.

    "Around" meaning very swim-able.

    Also, I think the water temp of the beaches on the north are generally slightly higher than the beaches on the east of the 7.
