Thats about what we have desided to do too. However, it doesnt hurt Premier at all, they could care less, but it does burn RCI, cause they cant sell or exchange all those weeks! Did you ever here from your freinds about them taking legal actions in Mexico against Premier? Terry

I hear from Brian on occasion. Last I heard they were still working on paperwork. The legal system there is not the best from what I am hearing.

Who to talk to at Temptations

Does anyone know who I can talk to at Temptations about this whole mess with the points and stuff? We are going down next week and one of the reasons I decided to go there instead of just booking somewhere else in Cancun for less money is so I can try to get this cleared up. We bought in on the whole thing in 2005 and it worked great the first 2 years, but with all the changes it actually costs more for us to return to Temptations than going elswhere. RCI was going to charge me more for the flight plus 55K points from my account than what I paid going to the American Airline website and purchasing and then we pay $90 per night for each one of us for the all inclusive fee which comes out to be more than if we would just go through one of the websites on here and booked it. The upgraded booze is not worth that much more. We have 3 weeks per year and typically only use 1, and they say we can sell the other weeks, but there is no takers. I am really disappointed with how all of this has gone down. We started going to what at the time was Blue Bay about ten years ago for the first time and I remember having such a great time and even though the resort has changed over time (some for the good and some not so good) we still enjoy the people that go their to have a good time no matter where you are from. I will stop ranting now so if anyone has a name I can ask for please let me know. If you have an email address or phone # that would be great as well so I can set up an appointment. Thank you so much. Howard

:?: Just wondering if anyone is getting anywhere with Premeir or RCI with the issues they have. Haven't heard anything about the lawyer or the 'Mole' recently. I checked out the 'naked truth' website & that appears to have died off with little or no activity. Maybe it's time to consider the premeir offer more seriously. I know it's not what we bought originally but the offer they gave me in Feb. seemed fair. We wanted to see what the lawyer could do before we signed but nothing appears to be happening there. My 401K is not where I want it to be either but you have to weather the storm. I think that is what needs to be done with the RCI situation. Try to make the best of it. Terry, you seem to be one of the leaders in this fight but I don't see much substance in your arguement other than - don't go on the breakfast tour. When you were @ TTR this month, did you talk to anyone about your membership? If so, what did they say? If not, why not? Handyman I see you upgraded your membership, you must of liked the offer they gave you. Now that you did, are you glad you did? I am leaning toward upgrading our membership. Yes they want more money but in the long run it will actually cost less for more opportunties. I guess we have been lucky as we have not had the problems with our membership that many people have discussed on this forum. We bought a 7 million point contract & have used 2 mil of it to this point with virtually no flaws. Yes the point limitation sucks but now instead of flying for $49 & paying the AI fee, we would pay for airfare & get free weeks.(12 weeks is what we are being offered at the moment) kinda of a wash IMO. Plus we still keep the 5 mil points. I guess my point is - instead of just bitching about it which doesn't seem to be helping, maybe it is time to sit down & figure out the best solution. So, has anyone else upgraded that could share some insight to help the rest of us? Would like to hear from more people & their views. Thanks

    Scott,

I don't have quite as many points, but I am going down next week and I am going to try to negotiate a deal that would give me free weeks and we just pay for the airfare going forward. As it stands right know after I pay for the Airfare over and above what my points pay for and the All Inclusive fee I end up paying more than someone that goes on a travel website and books. The all inclusive fee has gone up to between $80 and $90 per night per person which is crazy. I will let you know what I decide if I can get anything negotiated.

A couple of things Howard, if the AI fees continue to rise, the thought of free weeks becomes more attractive if you can get a good deal on a flight. Secondly I don't know how many points you have but some people are using there points to go to TTR. Also don't know if you are using points for other trips. Let us know how you make out.

No, I did not talk to them , at this point I believe it is a waste of time. We will not give them another dime, and if you give them more money and get free weeks you are just pre paying for those weeks you might not even get. They will also limit the points you can use in a year. I would rather keep my points to use when I wanted and go other places. I will warn as many people as I can by telling them not to go on the breakfast tour, dont you wish someone had warned you. Dont get me wrong We love the resort, just hate the timeshare! Also, I have really been trying to push lower AI fees, the resort wants us there, premier could care less, and the resort controls the AI fees. If enough people complain about the way to high AI fees they might lower them! I have not given up on other resourses to confront premier either. Terry

    Terry,

Thanks for replying to my questions. Without trying to sound combative I don't think talking to anyone on this issue is a waste of time, that's why I brought these questions up - to obtain as much information as possible.

After going over the math in great detail the money they are asking for is not strictly a pre-payment for A-I fees. Since we are financing part of our membership, a great deal of interest would be saved as all interest charges would be waived, as would the yearly maintenence fees.( I realize they are basically waived now if you go every year but what if you can't one year for some reason). So yes some of it would be pre-payment of AI fees but at a very low rate as those fees will continue to rise. Good luck on getting those lowered though, we hope you can.

The limitation of 200,000 points a year is more than we can use in a year anyway so I don't see that as an issue. With going to TTR on a free week, that leaves plenty for other vacations.

Actually I encourage 1st timers to go on the breakfast tour, however I would not recommend buying anything the first year. We found this tour to be very helpful in showing us everthing about the resort & made $100 on top of it. Remember this didn't work out for you but it may be what someone is looking for.

You didn't reply on the lawyer or the mole. Anything developing there? Again I'm not trying to argue with you, just trying to see things from every angle with discussion from different people.

    Scott
