So now they screwed everyone who has points. I can not see how this isn't going to get a lawsuit or multiple lawsuits on RCI's front door. Sure there contract may allow changes. But at what point does that change devalue the contract or product to the point that it breaks a legal boundry. In the court of law that is a gray area that needs to be looked at and I'm sure it will be.

A good example would be. Signing a contract for a year service at a health club and two months afterwards they decide we can't keep the club open 12 hrs. a day we must go down to 8AM to Noon because of the economic times. Sure you can still use it but at what point did they cross that line in the court of law that makes the contract voided?

I'm looking forward to seeing this website that is coming soon.

I think what 12531 was saying if you signed a new contract, the only restriction on using points parnters is how many points you get a year. ( I was told this earlier but thought it had changed with RCI 33% limit. I would like to know also if Handyman paid more to get his 8 AI weeks, I was also told the AL weeks they give you where very limited( when you could use them) Terry

I have been looking through my paperwork to see what I have in this.

I am on my third contract. First one in June 2007 was two weeks a year and 500,000 points for $4000.

Second one in Oct. 2007 was four weeks a year and about 1.3 mil points.
Plus $6,000 more.

Then last May I got six weeks a year, the 8 AI, the yacht, guaranteed room over the sexy pool, no maintenence fee, and 120,000 points a year with no limit on how many I can use for another $10,000. The AI's are worth over $11,000 depending on what time of year you go. They gave them to offset the points I lost.

In the end was it worth it? No, after dealing with the hassle of booking trips and calling RCI and Premier each time when before I did it all online, and all the money spent.

Now a new hassle, to book a trip using the free AI's you send an email instead of calling. It's been 24 hrs and still no response to my email. And I still have to deal with RCI and see how many idiots I will have to go through to make them honor my new contract.

 

handyman, the first contract you had is the one I am now using. With the limit on points I can get one flight per year. Last May when I was there they tried to get me to "upgrade" to the 3 weeks per year, and one AI fee paid per year, and no maintenance fees.....IF I sent people who are not Premier owners to use the other weeks I had, so they could try and sell them a contract. All this for an additional 4000 dollars.

I dont trust them, obviously they can change whatever they want whenever they want. So I am left with useless points (or days with Temptations)

We have decided to use out the contract and go with booking a trip through Apple, expedia or whoever has a better deal. It seems that what you get for your gold band is just not worth the hassle to us. We pay the 499 AI fee every year, and with the rates the way they are, and the fees from RCI yearly, it doesnt cover one of us when we go.....I was just trying to get a trip to the resort every year when we bought it, which the points would have covered at least our airfare, and we would have just paid the AI fees minus the 499 yearly and the initial contract. Those of you out there with millions of points are stuck.......and its just not right, but it seems no one at he resort or at RCI gives a hoot.
And I can not get a response from the initial attorney.....except for him to say they were going to move forward in NJ, and now this change from RCI that effects all the contracts??? that was the reason he was going forward, he told me that they couldn't just single out the owners from Temptations.....I havent heard anything different, if anyone has, please share...

You learn something new everytime you deal with these crooks. Now they say you can only use one free AI week a year. Even though I have it in writing I can use one or more a year. The fight continues.

you about need a sober lawyer with you when you sign on the doted line, May ask them for a copy of the contract be for I go and see what they say. Yea, now thinking about doing a new contract, when a week ago I thought what is the point in doing it! Terry
