Going to be hard for anyone to answer that as everyone paid different prices(very wide range of prices), have very different plans, then the AI fees have change drastically through the years, and then they run specials on the AI fees also.

It use to be a very good deal at the start. You saved money with every trip when you worked out the math. At the start you had to be a repeat guest even to listen/purchase the membership. But that was before RCI dug there claws into Premier.

Personally my take on everything that has gone on there over the last few years is this............Diego de la Pena the owner and his daughter I believe her name is Patricia basically run Orginal resorts. They look at Temptations as a dying resort(as far as age and what they can do with it compared to the rest of resorts in the Cancun area) and are looking to get as much $$$$$$$ out of it as they can over the time that it remains profitable.. Most/quickest money is in timeshare sales and condo sales(like what they do at Blue Bay Club). Basically they'd love to turn it into a timeshare resort. You see alot of these in Florida. Old hotels have run out there usefull life as a hotel compared to the competition/market and they turn them into what I call timeshare/condo hotels. Most still operate as a hotel but usually many rooms are owned by individuals and are rented out on a nightly, weekly, or monthly rate. Maybe I'm wrong but alot of the changes seem to point this way. I think this last remodel that took the last few years will be the last you see for a very very long time if not the last.

First I wanted tho thank you all for the great info on this site. The wife and I have been to Temptation/ BBG once, and loved it. My question is, are there other fee's involved in renting a week from a member?.. ie does the resort or premier charge anything once we get to the hotel. I found what seems to be a good deal but i don't want to be "surprised" when I get to Cancun. :?

No there shouldn't be unless something has changed recently. Make sure you work out the math before you buy.

    Have a great time.

If you comparing your cost vs a non-member booking thru Expedia, then you have to include the annual fee of 499 to your cost which brings the total to 1936. This doesn't include your investment cost either. Not the bargain we originally bought

It's very difficult to make comparisons between all the programs offered, we bought in early with the nights program, have no maint fees and a trip is cheaper than the brokers by 700 dollars a week. flying ns on usa3000.
just too bad they got greedy.

Air Tran is opening a route to Cancun in Feb. (Cheap flights) Also consider if you are a member, you do get some perks, better rooms, better check in, a spot on the beach with a waitress, better towels, easier resturant reservations, I think, better service, 10 percent discount on trips, that would have to be added into the value of what members get plus what they paid for their membership. Not sure it's worth what we paid. But it has some value which would have to be figured in with the total cost, also how many weeks you owned whould have to be figured in. I am also am upset about the HIGH AI fees for members compared to what anybody else pays. Terry

Please reread.. my annual fee of 499 is used toward one of the AI costs, thus lowering the total to that which I posted. :) so it IS 1437. Again, we did pay up front fees to get 989 nights a few years ago, but we plan on getting our money's worth. We also use RCI, have sent daughter and her husband to Puerto Vallarta, etc. So, again, each plan is different and if you would ask me if I'd do it again?? No, I wouldn't. Simply because I can make a shorter term deal with another entity, whether RCI, Interval, etc.
