This will make you sick also, just read about somebody, a member, who booked though RCI as an extra vacaton, in Dec, paid 199 a week + 60 dollars AI fee + airport transfers. Plus the web site said if they paid before 7 days in advance they would get free tickets to one of the ecco parks , we have to pay 30 days in advance If they offered that in May we could save 500 bucks, what sense does that make? I am not an owner here, or anywhere else, in all of the timeshare/vacationclub/etc b.s. I have been fortunate enough to have a friend that has not been able to use her "weeks" at an Interval/RCI property, the Casa Maya....just down the road from a lot of timeshare places....
What were you all thinking when you sat in on those sales pitches? Did you really want to dedicate your vacations forever to Cancun? And to one hotel? We will be going back to the Casa Maya for the 3rd yr in a row, and after this stop, we will never go to Cancun again...ick ....too bad they ruined it ....should have left it as a nice quiet fishing village....but as us tourists demanded, it was developed......
We would rather find our own places to stay, visit, etc.....besides, have any of you "owners" seen any of the resale sites....as in

    http://www.sellmytimesharenow.com/

This site has @ 21,000 timeshares for resale, around the world...and I know that it is not the only one doing the resale.....Do look, and think....
I will be in Cancun in 3 weeks, and when their sharks start circling, I will swim away happily......

Well to start with, yes this is the only place we wanted to go and still want to go. We go otherplaces too not though RCI or the resort, but Temptations is where our heart is. And it was a good deal , we could have taken flights to Cancun or any where else twice a year for 25 yrs ,until RCI changed things. Just realizing what a great deal we have lost. Terry

Ok here is what we paid for our May trip....Note I didn't use my package points, but did book through Premier nor did I use my air miles. We often use air miles but we didn't want extended layovers in Miami, Dallas or Atlanta (depending on what airline we used) so we bought our airline tickets for this trip.

Direct Flight from Charlotte to Cancun $459.00 x 2 =$918.00

    AI fees 9 nights X $84 X 2 people $756.00 = $1512.00

Total deal = $2430 for two

If I could have used my points I would have saved approximately $700 off the total price after the $49 and airline taxes were paid.

    Kinda sucks don't it?

Rodman have you read the thread??

The reason we are so upset is becausd we bought this package so we could use the money for OTHER resorts and travel options - airfare, cars etc.

No, I don't plan on going to this one resort every year, I used to use my points for arifare and such to go to on other vacations.

I looked at it as a way to 'force' myself to take a vacation once a year to wherever. This was my vacation 'Christmas Club". That WAS the advantage of the premier club. That is what has been taken away!!

The premier plans all seem to be different. They offer different things to different people from year to year it seems.

This will be our 3rd or 4th time to use our nights and while each contract is different, ours has worked ok. The week's stay at Temptation is a little over 670 bucks plus. I get to use one bonus week (I have 4 a year) and my nights go down but my points remain the same.

I pay my annual fee of 499 which I can then use against one of our AI fees. So what I paid for this week for the both of us was 670 or so. With my airfare from Detroit of 761.12, it's not a bad amount for a week.

    677 room and AI's for 2
    760 air for 2
    --------------------------
1437 -> Priceless fun with our friends :D

I do still need to book out ride to Temptation...a driver waiting with my name.....also priceless

You didn't take into account your initial purchase price. You should take your initial purchase price (plus interest if any) and divide it by your expected number of uses (5? 10? 15?).

I'd be curious, based on 5/10/15 uses what the TRUE cost is versus just booking a room for two online ($176/night is current rate online for 2).
