Santa dressed as my mail carrier brought me two bills. One from Premier telling me my maintenance fee of $499 is due before the end of January and the renewal for my RCI membership! LOL
There's just no relief in sight and these guys are laughing all the way to the bank!

That's a pretty hefty maintenance fee they charge(my membership has no maintenance fee). My parents own at the Paradise Village in PV and I believe there yearly fee is only like $250 or $300 can't quite remember but I know its not $500. That resort and grounds are on a whole other level of ratings then what Temptations falls into. Heck they even got zoo to keep up.

Allegedly the maintenance fee is considered as pre-paid all-inclusive fees. In the 2 years I've been a member, I haven't had the opportunity to use it or find out if they will actually post it towards my AI fees. I am hoping to get down there sometime this spring, so I should find out if Premier will actually credit these fees towards whatever AI fees I'll incur on that trip. Hopefully this trip will give me the opportunity to see how they will renegotiate my contract. Somehow, I bet it's just going to be more screwing! One thing I can guarantee is they're not going to get another dime for a renegotiated contract. $30K is enough :!:

the maintenance fee does go toward your AI fees, if you use them, they will carry them over for 2 years, but if you dont use them before that they will just keep them. I used them the last 2 times down..
since my husband and I are not going down this September I will use them when I go in May with the girls......I still have not paid my RCI membership fees....dont see a reason to when all my points are with Temptations....I will lose about 30,000 points but dont want to pay anymore than I have to. As soon as this small contract is used up we will see what happens, as it stands now with the AI fees as high as they are now it will be cheaper for us to book thru apple, or expedia, and just deal with a room that is not in D block........it turns out that we will pay less, without the airfare being paid for

I've been saying the same things for the last few years on here. AI fees have to stay under control or it just isn't worth buying the program. When you can book the resort seperately for less money or the same your really not getting much of any value out of your membership. Sure looking out over the sexy pool and ocean is eye candy for the first few trips but after that the value seems to go down in most peoples mind's. The other perks really aren't much either.

I guess I don't understand how in the future they plan on selling the Premier program. If you can go cheaper or about the same booking privately why pay all the money to get into the program?

    Nick

P.S.: My biggest pet peeve about the whole thing (you can do a search on as I've brought it up many times) is....................AI fees have gone up around 65% or so depending on the time year, some cases more since the program started back in about late 2000. Yet back in 1999 when I went I paid about the same cost for a couple as many of are friends have over the last eight years through the internet, travel agency, apple vacations, etc.. Maybe its gone up about $100 to $200 a couple at the most on avg.. If you find any kind of deal you can go for about the same as it would've cost you in 2001 as it does in 2008. Well during that time your airline taxes and fees have over doubled a person, fuel cost have suraged, airline fees raised, resort has been redone twice, and in general the whole economy was increasing at rapid rate during all those years. Yet none of it hardly effected the price in the end for non members. Yet members prices just keep increasing. Like I've been saying how you going to sell something that has little no value?

I guess we'll all just have to storm the office in may at the same time and demand answers.
