that's the same thing I thought Roy.......why would they want you to sign that?? if they didnt do anything, and Premier did it, why would you have to sign anything saying they werent liable???
or am I misunderstanding? I thought he said Premier was offering you a short trip down there to be able to switch over your contract (make sure you bring extra money!!) and RCI was offering the flight if you sign a waiver of liability?? liability of what??? airplane crash? car accident? bad food??

havent received anything from anyone.........but makes me wonder??

I just got an email from collections basically saying that RCI imposed this limitation and there is nothing they can do about it. They are offering a package to their members and would I like a "special agent" to contact me about it. No mention of coming down although I am going in Oct. on one of my bonus weeks which was a fight to let me use (since I am in default but have paid 80% of my contract). I was not able to use any of my RCI points for the airfare. Luckily I was able to use my RCI points from my other ownership and yea it came to 70,000 points no problem to use that and more if I had to! I will be sure to point that out to them. Personally I don' want to owe them anything for my trip I just want out of this useless contract with a company I have no trust in! How much trust can we have in a company that treats every member differently based on ???. One member gets one offer another gets >>>> How to figure it out? Interesting though that somone wants a signature releasing them from Liability. Somewhere someone thinks there may be a case here!

Just got an email from premier outlining the the "Premier upgraded program". It mentions There is a switchover getaway package for members to come and change their program. It does not say if the rate is per person or per room and does not say if you are obligated to switchover but is does not make sense as it says 4 nights/3 days for $315. I sent an answer saying
"I am curious to know if that “Switchover Getaway package @ $315 is, Per person or Per room (couple). Also, shouldn't that be 4 nights / 4 or 5 days for only $315. How can a person be there 4 nights and 3 days (unless you can only check in at night or leave the resort during the day???)"

The outline does not mention how much, if anything, it is to switchover (I am sure they are looking for mory money) or any time limits/periods. I had already sent them an email (before this from them) saying I was coming to talk about my contract but I guess they just don't read the emails people send! I doubt that rate is per room. If it is, I lost out again, as using a bonus week it is costing me more per day than that rate!!!
I am not sure they will answer me but if anyone gets that answer please post as they will owe me some money back on my upcoming trip!

I guarntee this is nothing more then a way to try to make more money off its members. I've been in it since the start and they've really done nothing for just the members benefit. If it doesn't cost you more money(highly doubt that) I bet the math will work to there benefit much more then you the member. They cut corners on everything they can so for them to give members a fair deal or money back would be a shocker.

Going back to my theory of how Temptations being the older resort and moving more towards being a big timeshare complex/factory. Would not surprise me one bit if in the next few years the will offer free 3 nights/4 day getaways to Temptation with the fine print reading you must attend the timeshare presentation. I'm telling you its right around the corner and the crap there sending out now is the start of it.

P.S.: Ask them why every deal(package/program) is better then the last one? The program has changed about six or seven times through the years. They keep saying the new program is the best blah blah blah. It's all BS. In the end its just more money in there pocket. First program they ever offered (which I have) and the second program are the only ones that the math ever worked out to the members benefit and still does today. Since then I'd think you'd be lucky to break even and in most cases you take a lost.

Hola, thanks Marie, I assume release of liability from a law suit. RCI called me last week, they amitted they made the decision to cut off our points for flying but said the resort was at fault because for 5 years the clause "subject to change" was in their contract. She kept asking me who I blamed, I told her RCI, they made the decision and they singled out just bluebay resorts, every body else can use all the points they want. Terry

    totally agree Renee...........

when I was there at the beginning of this month, that's all they cared about, getting people who have never been there before to be able to pitch the timeshare "junk" to.

If there was someone I really didn't like at all, I would send them and tell them it's the best deal ever!!! LOL

I hope no one would even think of signing that release. If there ever is a class action they would be out of it! I can't see anything to gain from signing it unless you were getting all your money back.

We have not received anything from anybody since the RCI letter stating the 60K cap on points. Oh btw, someone named Pamela from RCI (in a recent call with them) blamed Premier of the 60K cap. Interested in what this 4 nights /3 day thing is about despite the obvious mistake in the math. The letter of release thing from RCI tells me they are in deep poop and they KNOW it. Have to love damage control...might even be able to get something from it if they are trying to avoid a big ole nasty law suit that I am now convinced they know they can't win :)

Interesting...to say the least. Lets see what pans out from all of this. All that I know is something is going to HAVE to be a VERY sweet deal before we agree to signing anything if at all.

RCI blames Premier and Premier blames RCI . They are IMHO partners in the whole points limitation scam. That is why RCI wants you to sign a liability form and why Premier is pushing for all their points members to sign a new contract , along w/wanting to earn (scam) more money from their members.
