That is an interesting comment. Another happy Premier member I guess who has somehow been muzzled. Almost seems like there is this black hole with premier anyone who MIGHT be of help ends up being thrown in and you never hear from them again! Guess I'll try the Living in Cancun forum. That is where I got the Profeco information. Premier STILL has to appear before them in Oct re: my complaint. I guess I better watch for that hole.

 

She's a regular who appears and disappears for months at a time. Nothing to do with whatever's going on at Temptations.

 

I have returned and although I will repeat what I have learned, please remember I didnt do this.

I arrived on Saturday morning, and didn't make any kind of appointment or anything like that. I knew that there probably wouldnt be anyone I would want to talk to on Sunday, so first thing Monday morning 8:15 to be exact, partially hung over, not to bad, just went up to the Premier office and presented myself. Roy had told me earlier to speak to Clair, well of course she wasnt there....in Cabo?? sick?? they really didnt say.

They gave me some guy named Frank to speak with, told me Bernie had his day off that day (maybe?) Well, Frank told me they were just as angry as all the members were that RCI has done this. Showed me on their website that the points limitation was directed only to Premier members. So I (not so quietly) asked what they were going to do about this. He went on to tell me that they had a new program that I could switch my current contract over to. It did indeed include free AI fees BUT they wanted you to upgrade to 3 weeks per year, use one of your weeks and YOU sell the other two for 500 dollars each, for each week we could put someone new in the resort they would give me another week of AI fees free if they new people that came bought into the program. ALL of this wonderful stuff free (they were throwing in the yacht also) they only wanted another 4000 dollars from us. I didnt want to hear any of that and maybe not in those words told him, that I didnt care what RCI did, I signed a contract with Premier......and if I bought something from Walmart I would take it back to Walmart. I didnt trust them farther than I could throw them in the ocean, and wanted them to fix it so I could use my membership the way I bought it.
Frank left the table, came back to the table and lowered the price to 3500 and said that was the best he could do, left the table again. About 10 minutes of someone else trying to get me to have a drink he returned. Again I asked what he was going to do to fix everyones contract. This is the answer I got....."We are just as angry as you about this, but you need to let it drop and move on with this new contract!" Why do you think we would do this to our members?? it was RCI, they couldnt make enough money fast enough to cover the amount of points our members were using, they couldnt fill the resort with enought "new" meat.

I asked why I should even consider giving him more of my money, he said again I quote. " We want to fill these rooms with new people, the more new people we get here the more benifit you can get from your contract" at this point steam was coming from my ears, and they got me out of there as quick as they could. Told me to go to my husband and talk it over, it was only 3500 dollars and I could get free AI fees for the remainder of my contract. 25 years...I asked why they couldnt take my current contract and switch it over to the new more expensive one they were showing me. They said they couldnt offer the new one without it being a new contract??? And of course could only offer this new contract once and if I walked out it was off the table.

So IMHO they do not care......as I have read since returning they dont care if you come back, they dont care if you use the resort again or not.

They came around on Wednesday morning and told all the Premier members around the pool that the premier members cocktail party that night was cancelled....said they didnt trust the weather and the cigar bar would not keep us out of the rain???? I dont think any of them wanted to face any of the numerous members that were there that week.

I don't see any other way around getting an attorney and going against Premier....

Really its just the classic of case of we've got your money and you can't do anything about it.

This doesn't effect me as I got a much different program but just pisses me off that Premier is treating people like this.

Weather they want to admit it or not its there damn problem to solve. RCI is the big bad bear that everybody hates already. But now I hope Premier understands they're dragging all of the Orignal Resorts names through the mud with it. I honestly hope Premier doesn't sell one single more timeshare. With technology today word travels quickly and I hope they see a decrease in sales.

There is more then enough members this effects just between Desire and Temptations in Cancun/Playa del Carmen that have come forward to keep any up front cost down super low. Someone or few people just need to take the lead. Chances are the just the threat of the class action suit coming from a law firm would have Premier changing there tune quite quickly.

how to find a lawyer to take this on is more the question I think then participation. I am sure gathering up the people who are mad as hell and want this fixed won't be a problem. What kind of lawyer US, Mexican?? and how to find one will be the issue!

I don't think they ever actually got anywhere with Premier when they were there. Just got strung along and Claire was MIA when they were there "what a surprise"!

 

correct 125.....this is just my opinion, but they could care less if this is fixed or not. Or if we return to the resort or not. I felt since I decided not to "upgrade" to the new contract (4000 usd more) they didnt have time for me. This was now my problem and I could use my useless points however I saw fit.

I have not renewed with RCI yet, don't really know what we are going to do. Or if there is a point to renewing, paying them 124 dollars a year to get 500 off of an airline ticket, not enough to get one of us to Cancun from Chicago??
I am not a salesperson, and the new contract stated the way it would work is if I sold my extra weeks, you have to buy 3, I would get free AI fees for the following years paid....IF they bought into the program...Frank was very specific that they wanted NEW people that had never been to the resort before.
I still don't understand how they think this will fly......but I am in the same place...where to find a lawyer willing to take this on?? one from the US or Mexico?? I usually just hire someone to look after that stuff for me if I need one...

but unfortunately I dont see any other way to get them to listen to us...

 

Just did a quick search for international law firms with an office or connection in Cancun.

This place has offices all over the world. Main home is Chicago and they have offices in quite a few major cities in the US. Might be a little safer bet then just some stand alone law firm in Cancun. Plus if RCI is involved you'll have a lawyer in both locations.

I'm sure there is some more out there, that is just one that I came across quite quickly. Might be worth a call to at least get some intial information.

P.S.: Be nice if we had some direct contact information for the owner of the resort. Who knows maybe they are clueless on what is all going on or maybe not hearing the whole story. At the very least you'd think they be interested in some of the business tatics being used.
