Hola lowrider, we had that taken out of our contract ,so we pay nothing to have points transfered. I was informed I think, that there is no money exchanged between RCI and the resort, only space is exchanged, it was really a good thing for both parties until points travelers where sold and the new owners wanted a quick profit. Dont get me wrong we where burned by the rental program which I totally blame the resort. But I think this Rci thing has screwed has them too. Terry

My point is that TTR has all our points in there bank along with all our money, All TTR has to do is convert our points back to nights with AI fee included. My 6 Million plus points adds up to over 2000 nights, It's in the hands of TTR. not RCI. RCI in really nothing more than a travel agent.

I emailed Premier this morning and got a prompt (canned) reply. I was suprised to get such a quick reply. Instead of trying to interpret what they said I will just copy and paste:

It is true that RCI has limited access by our members on the RCI Points Partner, If you were notified by RCI that Premier was the company in charge to restrict your access to the RCI Points Partner that is not true, Premier & RCI are two different companies and we can't decide who can or who can't get in to their website or get their benefits.

We understand that there has been a points limitation with the points partner of 60,000 points per year. Let me tell you that when you bought your Premier Membership you got a Night Package to be use in all our resorts ( Cancun, Los Cabos and Dominican Republic ), this package offer you as an option to convert your nights thru RCI points and get the RCI benefits. As you know you can transfer as much points you want thru RCI, well … you can still doing the same and get the same benefits because we didn't change anything from your Premier Membership, but RCI change their policies and procedures for some of their benefits, unfortunately there is nothing we can't do.

The membership you bought and gave you access to the RCI membership consists of the following benefits:

    a) Preferential all inclusive fee in the hotels of the group.

    b) Interchange by RCI to another affiliates hotels and their program Points Partner, mentioning to him the clause # 25.

    c) We informed to you that now and according the previous clause, you will only be able to use 21 nights of your contract to get airplane tickets, but nevertheless you will be able to acquire tickets of airplane through RCI, with this you'll be saving nights and money from your contract.

The clause on this contract don`t varies with the reality, you can use 60.000 points for airplane tickets and 180.000 points for the rest of the benefits.

As you can see Premier is not the responsible on this issues and we don’t practice any fraudulent things for our members, I'll recommend you please get in to the RCI website where you'll find that information and you'll se that RCI made all this changes.

Any question please let me know.

Hola, yea, they wiil convert your points to all inclusive days, If you are going , from where we live ,and only staying a week it will be about the same. But we stay longer than a week which suckes. They had the best of all worlds , they got your AL fee plus they they paid nothing to RIC why would they want to change that . Now all they have is alot of mad members and are haveing a hard time selling time shares . And with the recent changes in the resort and the staff, I dont know what they are thinking. Maybe they think we will all go away. I think not. Terry

Well there it is. Premier in writing is saying its RCI's fault.

So as members with a membership that it affects you should be pushing Premier to help fight RCI on your behalf. Why should they sit back and take the heat and bad press from there members????

Maybe someone should talk to a higher up at RCI and email them the email Permier sent you and see what they have to say about it. Something tells me they may have a different story.

I know nothing of this topic and never would have..

Only thing I have to say I had no idea so many people bought time shares. I thought most people laughed at them and kept walking....

    I am guessing not..

Time shares are an odd things. Some make sense and many don't. It's a very buyer beware market.

People with issues right now had a good program that seemed to make sense for some. But then when someone throws a cap on the points used so low that it renders your timeshare to being almost worthless that is more of an ethical issues on RCI's or Premiers side or both.

Notice that the problem happened after Premier strted with the large points program, people started buying millions of points from Premier and they pocketed the money. It took RCI a while to figure this out and alas the points cap. Don't get me wrong I think RCI is a joke with their vacation sustem--you can't book until someone else deposits a space from their timeshare, but to me it looks like Premier "Original Resorts" took the money and ran!!

Hola, Just heard from Chris, he said that the RCI changes seem to be permanent, or they are dragging it out so long it might as well be permanent. He was going to a meeting about about a discounted rate for members to come down there and switch to the new program. Terry
