It's not Temptations it's RCI that keeps changing. First they rasied the points for a non-stop ticket from 60,000 to 90,000. Now you can only use 60,000 points to fly down. That means I had to buy one ticket and use points for the other taking a flight with a layover. I have six weeks a year and can't use my 350,000 points for tickets. And I just upgraded my membership. RCI screwed us bad. And all this within a year. I wouldn't buy if I had it to do over. They say you can sell your unused weeks and make money but that hasn't happened yet. I end up losing weeks at the end of the year. I got five weeks to get rid of now. Anybody looking for a deal. It included the yacht. You all heard that pitch i'm sure.

My bad! I wanted to get Temptation attention. If Temptation Resort starts taking care of their members, and keep up with their part of the contract, we will have nothing bad to say about the Resort.

    Chris / Temptation,

Where are you? Why are you hiding? We paid in full what we agreed to, how about you????

I really think RCI is the problem.. They (RCI) just recently stopped allowing credit card pts for airline tickets. Instead they give supposed discounts, Remember the previously posted article about them using banked vacation weeks for the general public . I wonder if the following web sight may be an example of that ( http://www.wyndham-vacations.com/main.taf?p=0,14,1 ) ???

While RCI MAY be the problem it is Premier who is responsible to their members. Whatever contract they have with RCI they have the leverage and the legal counsel to work on it. Premier AGRESSIVELY marketed a program that sold many of us RCI points. The weeks in addition to those points were "bonus weeks" and clearly listed in the contract as such. We bought the program for the points and what they could be used for. They paited this wonderful picture of all the things we could do with our points. Premier never once mentioned that RCI could decide to treat us as stepchildren and make all of the points we purchased useless! Now that Premier sold those points to us and collected the money for them they need to be responsible for a product they sold. If it is worthless or greatly reduced in value Premier should be the one to correct it. Those of us who want out of our contract should be allowed a refund prorated on what we may have used. In my case the timing of this caused us to receive absolutly nothing for the money we paid. We have not used a point or a day at Temptations. In addition to what we paid for the contract (up to May) they have collected a maintenence fee and "lifetime rental fee" and we can't even visit Temptations, nor rent our weeks, nor use our points! They cannot justify this as not their fault and just say sorry .... see ya!
I only wish I could visit the resort as I would be wearing a T Shirt EVERYDAY emblasioned with "If you are thinking of buying a membership at Temptations PLEASE talk to me". I am sure prospective members would find this mess pretty scary. I woul encourage any of you visiting to be very sharing with those prospective members you meet at the resort. Maybe as Temptations sees the results they will realize they need to start taking care of the members.

I guess RCI must have gotten a call from the Indiana Attorney Generals office or someone I have complained to! They called me at work today. Not that I got anywhere! Basically the person who called, Rick Belts said RCI AND Premier agreed to amend their contract, which created the points limitation (and my now two separate contracts with RCI). He said BOTH parties have to agree to such an amendment. He said this was done to allow members to utilize the inventory more efficiently?? (yea right). I told him that for whatever reason they were using it is not fair to the members. I pointed out that RCI used to be good years ago but has gotten continuely worse and less caring about the members. I also pointed out without members they have no product and the need to start paying attention to their wishes and not two companies negotiating their best deal in a room somewhere. I told them these days with the internet they cannot hide these cladestine deals from the public eye; it is all out there for people to see. Basically, he said he agreed with my position and understood where I was coming from but that the "higher ups" make these decisions (deals). I told him why bother to even call me when all he can do is explain what I already know and tell me that this is the way it is. I told him he better get the message to the "higher ups" that the members are not happy!
Useless waste of my time at work but it felt good to hear the guy squirm when what I was saying made more sense then what he was saying! Keep complaining folks after awhile someone may start listening!

So it kind of sounds like the Attorney General route is at a stand still? RCI invented this game so I'm sure they got there lies down pretty good through the years. Though I'm sure if you could get this case in front of judge they'd have nothing to stand on. You can't just make up rules for one group of people and leave everyone else alone.

    Anyone a member at tug2.net???

Its pretty hardcore group of timeshare owners. I was a member along time ago (think its like $10 a year or something) and they got people on there that know basically the in and outs of everyting to do with RCI or Interval International. Chances are real good some one there knows of names and email addresses of higher up in the RCI food chain. They may also have different suggestions on how to approach the problem many of you are having. This isn't the first time RCI or a resort has screwed over members. So I'm sure there is alot of history on that site. Might give everyone some more ideas.

Hola, Just got back tonight, the resort is trying to fix the problem, It's RCI that will not tell them anything one way or the other. The resort has stop taking RCI reservations trying to force RCI to make a decision. Last night they had a party just for members at the cigar bar ( something new they are doing) and Chris told me RCI was suppose to make a decision one way or the other today and he would email me and let me know if RCI at last made up their minds. Seems like that is the game they've been playing for the last few months. I think the real question that needs to be answered is what is Premier going to do for its members (that this affects) if RCI says there sticking to the 60K cap???
