When I called last week it was still in affect. We used points in January for our Feb flight and I called to inquire about something completely different, but said "While I have you on the phone I have a few questions about the new Points Partners and using points for a flight" She stated that we had used our max allotted points for the year.

They told us that we couldn't use over 60,000 pts. a year (we used 140,000 in May ) and then told us that for the trip in Sept. that since tickets were going to cost 45,000 pts. each and 60,000 wasn't enough for two that we were going to have to pay for one and use pts. for the other .I asked them if we could use 45,000 for one ticket and 15,000 for the other and we would pay the difference . They said no; points for the whole ticket or cash for the whole ticket .

I just got off the phone with RCI and they told me that because Blue Bay members used such a high volume of points that RCI put a limit on the number of points that we can use . They pretty much turned our thousands of hard earned money into a buy one get one deal .We're not allowed to use part of our points for tickets . We pretty much paid thousands to get $500 off on a weeks vacation.

Please folks those of you affected by this should file a complaint with the Indiana Attorney general. It can be done on-line but if they start getting multiple complaints that one group of members is being singled out they will have to look into it and put some pressure on RCI.

the address for RCI us and Canada is
    RCI North America Office
    9998 North Michigan Road
    Carmel, IN 46032
    Phone: (317) 805-9000
    Fax: (317) 805-9335
That would put it under the jurisdiction of the Indiana Attorney General. The website to file a complaint with them would be

    http://www.indianaconsumer.com/consumer_complaint.asp

It may peak enough interest for him to file a class action suit. It may be our only shot since it appears that Premier could care less about the issue.

    Maybe some problems are fixed?

Premier group just split our two contracts into two RCI accounts and initiated a transfer of 240,000 points into the new account. Presuming that goes through OK, maybe the problems have been resolved? We'll let you know what happens.

Re: Maybe some problems are fixed?

You mean you have two RCI accounts for Blue Bay? What kind of BS is that now you get to pay 2 RCI Membership fees per year as well. They did the same thing to me but one RCI membership is for my other timeshare which I have no limit on. They were one RCI membership (and one fee) per year. which is another bone of contention I have with them. Without notice or explanation my one RCI membership was splint into two and my Blue Bay membership was given a new number (and fee). Because of all of the "mysterious deals" between Premier and RCI those of us with other properties now have to pay 2 RCI memberships while other people with multiple properties can combine their contracts into one fee. Also just because they transfered 240,000 into the account does not mean RCI is going to let you use them at more than 6oK per year. But now the clock is ticking on those points as once in RCI you must use them within 2 years or they expire!
