Many people have mentioned they were visiting Temptations soon and were going to make some noise at the sales office about the RCI issues and points limitation but I have yet to see any postings from folks who have actually been there recently.
Are any of you out there and can enlighten us?
Chris seems to have gotten VERY QUIET as well. No info coming out of there at all!

Legal Action

We've had a very unpleasant experience with Blue Bay over the last two years. They've failed to honor just about everything in the Premier contract, including the condo equity incentive. IMHO, the RCI issue is a Blue Bay issue--I think BB has flooded the Premier members with points who, in turn, have used them at RCI and upset the balance at RCI. As a result, RCI is putting limitations on Premier/BB use. Our contract is with BB, so in our opinion, the only recourse for us is with them. We don't see any obvious recourse with RCI. And after consulting with a Mexican attorney, we don't hold much hope of compelling BB to honor our contract or perform as we might expect.

Like many of you, we have a ton of points (12 million) that we anticipated using with RCI. That's what we thought we bought, anyhow. We'd be more than willing to join any group action, but we aren't very optimistic about the potential for results. We did file a complaint with the Indiana Attorney General about the RCI issue, just to cover our bases and try to add one more twig to the fire.

One of the other Premier members contacted us about starting a negative BB campaign. That might be the only thing that will get BB to pay any attention to the issues.

Sigh. It's not supposed to be this difficult!

I do agree with you as to the scenaerio you presented I really think this is the cause. Blue Bay sold us the points. RCI realized they were getting hoesed so they put a limit on us. Blue Bay doesn't give two hoots becuase they already sold to us. They'll just come up with a new Scam for the next prospects.
I do think we would have more leverage fighting RCI in the US then BB in Mexico. The only way to do that is to flood the Indiana AT with complaints. Those of you who will still be visiting Temptations (I can't since I am "in default") should be very vocal to the management and other guests about their practice's. I think it would be great to wear a button or T Shirt that says "Before you sign on the dotted line, Ask me the REAL info on becoming a Premier member"
Bet that woulld get some attention there! If we had a couple people a week down there with that it would put a crimp in their sales!

 

Now thats a damn fine idea 12531. If I don't get any satisfaction next week I'll definetly let the people that are there that week know exactly what the hells going on.

The more I think about how this ended up this way the more it comes to light! I think this is how it happened.

Those of us in this boat of owning millions of RCI points all got the same presentation of how somehow Blue Bay got their property into RCI on a nights basis rather than the traditional weeks or fixed amount of points per year as all the other resorts are. They were very proud to tell you that this was an unbelievable deal because they hold all the points and since anything you put in RCI expires if not used in two years we were getting a great deal (move over what you need and we hold the rest, they don't expire)!
Basically Blue Bay scammed RCI! Now, RCI saw all these points owners from Blue Bay starting to use these points with their points partners and realized "Holy c##p this is going to cost us a fortune. RCI probably had wonderful dicussions with BB (probably even threatened lawsuit) who said "well we already sold the points, which were ours to sell, nothing we can do". I am sure thats how the plan to limit our points was hatched. In the obsure language, in the fine print on your RCI contract "all terms of the RCI membership are subject to change". This enables RCI and Blue Bay to point the finger at the other saying not my fault.
Have you noticed since Premiers big meeting with RCI in Mexico City back in June this all worked out. RCI got Premier to the table by locking us out of access and I would guess gave them an ultimatum. All pure opinion on my part but this whole thing reeks of it being true!
Notice how we are not hearing anything out of Premier of late. Even Chris seems to have dropped off the face of the Earth. Chances are, if he was advocating for us he is no longer working there or was told to zip it!

Now thats a very good possibility & I'll run it by Chris or whoever's got the job these days.
I had a weeks timeshare at the Plaza las Glorias in Cozumel for 20yrs & used my last week at BBG in '06. After taking the points presentation at BBG it sounded too good to be true but what sold me was the affiliation with RCI (along with being pretty shitfaced). I had always recieved good service from RCI on my trades from PLG so I had no reason to believe that would change so somebodys B.S.ing us & I'm going to find out who next week. If RCI's position is 60,000 pts a year then TTR is going to have to ante up with something substantial to offset that screwing in my book.
And if this (60,000 pts.) has already been etched in stone why the hell can't we access the damn web site. O'yeah I tried to reserve a jeep for my trip & was told the points couldn't be used for car rentals in Mexico.
So with any luck at all I'm going to find out what these points ARE good for & I'll post it here.
