I would imagine complaints re RCI and their point limitation would have to be filed with consumer affairs in the state RCI USA is located. I am not sure where that is but I assume it is in my paperwork.

    rci

Just came across this RCI tidbit .....

    Update on the RCI lawsuit
Just a quick update on the lawsuit filed against RCI on 03/14/2006 regarding the renting of RCI Weeks inventory to the general public (etc)

    the update was posted 7-11-2008

    http://www.tugbbs.com/forums/showthread.php?t=76183&highlight=rci lawsuit

It seems all the resorts that are banked are not all available to members
which may explain why it's not as easy as it should be to book travel

I would sure like to know how (whoever) went about filing that lawsuit. There certainly should be lawsuit material in this dicriminatory practice of RCI limiting points use by Premier members!

Maybe all people under the points system with Premier should contact Premier and push them into doing the legal action against RCI or at the very least find out who they should contact at RCI to file a formal complaint (let their members do some dirty work for them). If it truely is RCI that changed it, then Premier should fix it or at the very least come to resolution for its members.

    Nick and Renee

P.S.: I think its going to be hard to get RCI to listen to anyone. I'm sure they get many calls everyday with people who are not happy with them. Grant it many of the calls they get I'm sure are unwarranted and just buyers remorse in many cases or have little merit behind them. Some of you may want to check out tug1.net its a timeshare site that has been around for years now with very active forums. I'm sure there is people that can point you in the right direction. I know when I use to be an active member they had posters in there that know the inner workings of RCI and in general know all the ends and outs of everything dealing with timeshares. I'm sure they can give you some good ideas on how you should all handle this issue.

the address for RCI us and Canada is
    RCI North America Office
    9998 North Michigan Road
    Carmel, IN 46032
    Phone: (317) 805-9000
    Fax: (317) 805-9335
That would put it under the jurisdiction of the Indiana Attorney General. The website to file a complaint with them would be
    http://www.indianaconsumer.com/consumer_complaint.asp
I suggest those of you affected by RCI's targeted points limitation flood the AG with complaints. It may peak enough interest for him to file a class action suit. It may be our only shot since it appears that Premier could care less about the issue. I intend to file. I have also filed a complaint with Profeco in Mexico and have received word from them that a meeting with Premier will be set. Any grief that can be put on premier and RCI is worth the work as without it we will all be (SOL)!

These people at Premier have no idea what is going on. After sending a boatload of documentation re: my complaint that they sold us a useless contract for 5.6 million points I need 100 years to use now and telling them I have stopped future payments. They responded by email basically by saying not our fault ...tough luck.. you just can't come back till you pay! Then today, a month later, I get a letter from their collections department asking why I have not paid this month? Is something wrong... if so, they would like to hear from us!!
Give me a break! These people have no clue. I got an email from Chris awhile back saying I would get a refund for the useless $299 fee I paid to the "rental agency" but that has never come either!
It is a real shame, as we did enjoy our trip there and would have enjoyed future trips had we not been royally ripped off! Hopefully the complaint I filed with Profeco (which seems to be SLOWLY moving forward) will "remind them" we have an issue.

Hey 12531....My payments to Premier are due on the 17th of each month, I received a message on the 17th and also an email from Premier looking for my July payment, they also called on the 18th and spoke with my wife and she told them that once the so called agreement is worked out to lift the 60k cap then we will resume our payments.

Then Premier offered us the following, if we set up an auto pay with Visa or Mastercard, they will give us free nights, and if we can pay off our balance, they will give us a 5% discount.

    Smells like something fishy

Turbos... very interesting! I guess they are going to try to get everyone who owes them money on their contracts to pay up. They have to know they cannot get away with these contracts that are useless and people are not going to finish paying for absoulutly nothing! I would certianly rather lose what I have paid so far they to give them the rest and lose another 6 k that I owe them! They are not getting another dime out of me until I get what I purchased. I am getting my complaint letter together now to go to Indiana Attorney General about RCI and their selective point limitation to Premier members as well. I can only hope if others complain to Profeco and the indiana AT, one of them will get on the case!

Just received an email from another premier member ( not on this forum that i know of...) who forwarded me an email he received from a member they met at temptations.....as follows...

Please read the following email I sent to a law firm in Cancun. If you know any other owners at Blue Bay, you might want to forward this to them as well. I feel like we flushed our money down the toilet

    Dear Sirs:

I am contacting you on behalf of an undisclosed number of owners who purchased vacation ownerships from Blue Bay Premier Vacation Club aka Servicios De Operaciones Hoteleras, S.A. De C.V. in Cancun, Q.R. Mexico.

The biggest selling point in making this purchase were the RCI points which could be converted to airfares, car rentals, hotel rooms, and other services. My wife and I personally made a purchase of 5,664,000 RCI points on April 27, 2007. We were given a window of 25 years to use these points. Now, more than a year later, we are being told that we can only use 60,000 points per year for the purchase of these services. This won't even cover one plane ticket from Los Angeles to Cancun. It would also take nearly one hundred years to use these points in this scenario.

In discussing the matter with Premier Services Group, they only say they are working to resolve the matter with RCI. That is not a good enough explanation. I paid thousands of dollars for the right of to use these points and there are countless others who made their purchase for the same reason. Somebody has taken advantage of all the money we paid for this right.

I believe there are sufficient grounds to possibly pursue a class action lawsuit on behalf of all the vacation club owners against either Blue Bay Premier Vacation Club to recover our investments, RCI, or both. If you think this is a viable cause for action, please feel free to contact me in California at

I left his contact info off as he wasn't addressing this letter to this forum.

But how many more are there like him
