    primier rates

"A Premier member would be able to get the Capacity Controlled rate of $222.40 if it were available, and it should be, or 20% less than the Expedia rate whichever is less."

What does "capacity controlled" rate mean? Bart, what time of year did you get that rate for. I keep being told the premier rate is 20% off THEIR published rate not the best advertised rate.

    Re: primier rates

I booked for a trip starting on Dec 31. Getting the comparison quote, sending the quote to Premier, blah blah blah, and waiting on Premier to actually get back to me was a pain as usual. Saving several hundred $$ felt great, and I am looking forward to still staying Premier.

I believe "capacity controlled" is Premier's discounted rate, and will be the one they will be forced to use all of 2010 in order to get anyone to stay Premier. If they continue to honor their 20% off other quotes pledge, it really does not matter how high their posted, or even their "capacity controlled" rate is.

    Terry,
Could you give me Claire Wright's email address? I sent an email out on Monday to what I thought her address was from an earlier posting from Mike & Shelly and haven't gotten a response. I sent it to salesdirectorcun1@originalresorts.com I'm just curious if she's just ignoring me like Bert used to or if I might have the wrong address.
    Thanks,
    Bill

    Re: primier rates

    Hola amigos,

I am jealous about your NYE trip btw, lol. Was looking at booking 22 May-1 Jun 2010 and got an e-mail quote from the site for Premier rates of $1680 for a deluxe ocean view room. That price is now $2240 and that was the discounted member price. I have still have not received a response to my e-mail asking if they will honour the original quote. Pretty much the same for our Aug / Sep 2010 trip...$1480 jumped to $1888 for the 10 nights.

Capacity controlled is in all likelyhood a term used to limit the number of rooms available at the discounted rate. Expedia rates for the same time frames and rooms are actually more expensive than the member rates...with in a few $ of Premier's non member rates...something like $276 pd in May and just over $200 pd in Aug /Sep (for two people btw). Not seeing any great deals on Expedia there. Fun jet was not much better. The travel sites are fairly on par with the posted non member rates.

You did get an awesome deal :)

Saw some rates on Skoosh for the same dates $120-$130 pd (May) for an undescribed room and about $95 pd in Aug (both for two people again). I am thinking that they are crap rooms that no one wants and not ocean / garden view.

As an example of the rate increases for members (for two people):
    May 09 $168 pd May 2010 $222.40 pd
    Aug /Sep 09 $136 pd Aug / Sep 2010 $188.80 pd.

That is what I call pricing themselves out of the market for a lot of people and definitely more than % rate mentioned in the contract. I think Mike mentioned it earlier it is in the area of 4-5% this year. I don't have the info on hand what national something or other rate it is related to. But essentially that rate would have to be 23-24% for next year for Premier to charge those rates.

At least I didn't rant this time...IMHO that is, lol.

    Scott

P.S. I personally would be very suspicious of anyone @ Premier using a hotmail account to conduct official Premier business. Again in IMHO.

Does any one have an email address for Norma or the other person that works in the premier check in area. I will be down in a few weeks and want to confirm a few things with them like what sec we will be in.

    Thanks Frank & Bonny

Still have not heard anything back...surprise surprise @that. I think Premier is trying to upscale TTR just by charging more.

Sort of like "Hey if we charge more, people will think we are a better resort and will flock to us and buy all sorts of memberships..."

Pretty sad when we can go to HEDO for about the same price with airfare, or a just a bit more, and that is staying on nude side.

Getting hard to justify the costs at TTR for what we get. IMHO

I dont think that will work, if that is what they are thinking,, I personally think, they think, they have got us and we will pay anything to go back. We will have to go back a least once more so we can get rid of the yearly fees. If we have to stay in a garden room next time I am just woundering what the 8 weeks a year we bought was for, Things have gotten worst than they where with the RCI mess!!!!!!!!! Terry
