    Re: RCI

I got the same post card in the mail. Read it and threw it out as the lawsuit didn't really apply to what my program was or any program that Premier ever offered.

20 percent off the rack rates, come on they dont offer you that, and to get it it's a tooth and nail fight! Just look at premier rates and then look at the deluxe room rate you can get on the internet and try to get them to give you 20 percent of that. Another member had it writen into their contract that they would get 20 percent off the lowest price published, when they treid to use it , premier kept coming up with made up reasons why they couldnt use the cause that in their contract. Sounds like Bert may still be around. Terry

Yes, I can see that the offer is of no real benefit to you. In our case it would (annual AI fees, only 3 bonus weeks and no 20% off) but I am sure that they would not offer us the same package. As it stands, we are not 100% unhappy with Premier/RCI as we are still saving some money on each trip just not as much as we used to. Hope you can get a resolution that works for you.

I have a feeling Bert is still around just not visible to the public. Looks like they are trying to change the image with a woman up front. Same crappy deal. Actually Claire offered us a worse deal then Bert. So its getting worse.

OK, I am NOW getting pretty PISSED!!!! Did an online quote on 26 Sep for our planned dates in May and Aug/Sep next year (10 nights each stay) and as of a few minutes ago the price has gone up $544 and $408 respectively. I followed the links in the original reply e-mails with the lower quotes listed in them and they came up with the higher rates.

Seems they have raised thier posted member rates in a matter of 3 weeks. While I totally understand the concept of rate changes between quote and booking times, I don't recall seeing the usual disclaimer stating such. Guess we shall see if they honor the quoted rates...

Lyrics from an AC/DC song come to mind..."Got you by the balls" Would appear that Premier is squeezing pretty damn hard.

Maybe its just me but I believe the AI fees should be just set and that is it for the year. They know when the resort has its lowest occupancy and there highest. So there really shouldn't be any surprises to them(barring a hurricane, disease outbreak, etc.). I find it when they run sales on the AI fees all there saying is our rates are to high and we can afford to lower them too drum up more business. Either way there making money. But at times those sale prices are like $15 a day per a person lower then they publish for that year. I find that range to be just unacceptable. Once again that just seems like they know there pushing the AI fee rates when they set up there fees for the current year.

FYI many resorts have the same AI fee rate year around. Fees should be based on what the avg. person cost the resort and some small profit on top. Not based on occupancy rates and what is the maximum amount of money we can make off each member with these published fees. Seems like there trying to find the high water mark that members are willing to pay and have already forgot the capital money us members have gave the resort intially. It was only two years or so that we all bitched and they reverted the AI fee back to the previous year prices, which where alot cheaper. That alone tells you the rate hike isn't based on operation cost or anything along those lines. Because if it was based on the cost of doing business going up then they couldn't do that as they would lose money.

I agree, and the difference of $544 and $408 in JanScott example is large enough for some folks to cancel 1 trip or not go at all. Also, I think that the members and repeaters are some of the reason for the fun atmosphere, and may help new people have a good time and come back.

Actually, the rates I was initially quoted were the posted rates for the year and not a sale price. There was not a promo logo/tag. Now, there is a promo tag on the new higher rates and a congratulatory comment saying I have saved ~$465 off the regular price.

Little bit of rough math here brings the new low season rate (mid Aug-mid Dec) to something around $120ppd for next year. Not sure how they can justify going from $74ppd regular price (current sale @$68ppd) this year to a sale price of $95ppd the same time next year.

Almost makes we want to take a hit of the approx 11k value left in our contract by not going back and supporting something that has become outright highway robbery. I do know that I am talking trash when I say that, but I am that PISSED right now to feel that way. Good business model on Premier's part...screw the people that got you where you are today. Trash again on my part or the hard truth?

Regardless, I think they are getting way too expensive for what the resort offers. In the end, they could wind up shooting themselves in the foot and become another derelict resort if they continue like this.

In all fairness, I have not received a reply to my e-mail to the reservations department asking if they will honor the quote they gave on 26 Sep.

Done with my rant for now :D

I had inquired about the AI prices for next year some time ago( I ask Claire) and was told it would be several weeks before they where decided. I got this email today

    From: PREMIER-CLAIRE <salesdirectorcun1>
    To: TBerrier11@yahoo.com

    Subject: FW: AI fees

    Dear Terry,

Just wanted to give you an update.

The AI fees are being decided in the next few weeks but we are going to try and make it easier for members to see them and make their reservations in future by publishing everything on the www.premierbyoriginalresorts.com website. We are changing and improving the benefits as well and a complete list of those will be put onto the website as well so you can look over them and see what there is in each of the different resorts.

It is taking time to try and clean things up here but I’m doing everything possible and the hotel is being a very big help!

Please let me know if you need any more info.

    Kindest Regards

    Claire Wright

I can almost live with losing all those points to fly with, but not with paying more in AI prices than non-members pay, we should be paying less not more!!!!!! Example, they ( non- members) get a room plus AI fees for 120 a night( for 2), we pay 136 a night (for two)in AI fees, when you ask them about it they tell you you get a better room, well what did we pay for to start with!!!!!!!!! I am not talking about the resort's published price but all the deals on the internet. Terry
