no gold band sean, but I was there in May, and didnt use my membership either, and really didnt see a difference in service or anything else....

now when I was there the resort wasnt very full due to the flu scare and you didnt need to make reservations at the specality restaurants, but IMHO that is the only "perk" that I would miss, going to the premier office to make those reservations???

with the deals they have now, I doubt that premier could beat ANY of them, with the way they charge AI fees ???

    BTW have a great time!!!

Wow, how do they increase AI fees when the National index of pricing went down? In our contract our rates are increased or decreased based on what the national index is doing. If anything they should go down not up! Im going to have to look into this. They are once again violating the contract if they raised the rates exceeding the national index rate.

    Another CRAPPY offer

Its clear Premier has no intention of resolving any issues without members paying a fee.

    Claire writes:

I can offer you the following:

    • 160,000 RCI points per year
    • 6 bonus weeks per year which give you a 20% discount on the rack rates in each of the resorts and members gold band benefits
    • Yacht Club membership
    • One free yacht trip (for up to 8 people) to be used on your next visit back to our resorts
    • No annual maintanence fee for the 25 years of the program
    • Subscription to a new RCI account. In this account we will not automatically deposit points. This way you can call through to our customer service and request that they be transferred as and when you need them.
    • 5 Free AI weeks for 2 adults. These are valid for 8 days/7 nights in Temptation and BBC and as 4 days/3 nights in Desire. The only black out dates are christmas, new Year and easter week.

The smallest changeover cost i can offer you is $3500 usd plus a $400 usd contract cost. The contract cost is unavoidable and this changeover is at cost price for the resort. I want you to be assured that no comissions arepaid on this upgrade and no profit at all is made by us. I am offering you to try and finally resolve your situation as I do completely understand your annoyance with the changes. I can work with you on the financing options and make it as comfortable as I possibly can for you taking into account your current family situation.

    Re: Another CRAPPY offer

Doing the math, if your contract is similar to ours; 15K cost, 2.8 million points /1000 nights over the life of the contract, what they are offering doesn't sound too bad based on current low season member rates.

The 6 weeks @ 20% off per year using 2 weeks a year saves you about $200 on each trip (based on this years lowest AI fees). Plus the free 5 AI weeks, this more than covers the additional cost and allows you to save at least $200 per non free AI trips. Add the the use of the 60K points towards airfare (about $650 based on our last usage) and it might not be that bad of a deal. The free AI weeks covers the cost and then some as well.

Might not ba a prefect deal but it could be to one's advantage if you go 2 or 3 times/year. IMHO. I could seriously consider this type of deal based on our contract. With the curent rates and 60K for airfare we are still saving roughly a 1K per 10 day trip based on popular sites such as Expedia. Again IMHO and our situation.

Here is whay this is a bad deal for us:
WE paid $22K, 5.664 million RCI points, 6 bonus weeks

The reasons why this is another bad offer from Premier:
    • We currently have 240,000 points per year so we would be paying for 80,000 fewer points per year.
    • We already own 6 Bonus weeks your giving 6 in return
    • We already have no Maintenance fees in our current contract – not a benefit
    • WE already get 20% off the nightly rates– not a benefit
    • The yacht membership is already in our contract – not a benefit

What this offer comes down to is you want us to pay $3,900 additionally and give us in return 5 AI weeks and the cost of a new contract. The reason this is not a great deal is that I can book rooms through an online travel website and spend the same amount of money for the same 5 weeks. Plus I get to keep all 5.6 Million RCI points and I can give them to friends to use for resort stays. If I dont use them someone will.

nothing offered was a genuine offer and they have no intention of trying to make us happy. I will let PROFECO run its course.

Doesn't seem to add up for you.

Free AI weeks seem to be what I would really hit them up on. Lets be honest the true cost of having two people at the resort over a week(when it isn't full) is minimal on there side. I'd be shocked if you two personally cost them more about $200 worth of water, drinks, and food.

I think I'd keep what you got and counter there offer with maybe 8 weeks of free AI fees. At least at that point if they gave you 8 weeks or so that would be a nice chunk of money kind of coming back in your pocket.
56 days x 2 adults x $85 AI fee daily(avg)=$9520. To me that would seem to be the easiest way too help solve some of your loses and cost them the least in return.

I think the point issues are basically a lost cause as the resort really can't do anything about what RCI wants to do. Even if by some act of god you got something figured out on the point side there is no way RCI is not going to have a clause saying it can change at anytime. So chances are high you'd run into another problem at some time.
