I wouldn't think you could tranfer points from the old account which has a limitation to a new account that doesn't. I never tried and it would be nice if I could because I will be losing a lot next year if I don't use them. I know that Premier only puts 150,000 in a year and some times that is only enough to buy two tickest depending on the price. That's why they gave the AI weeks to make up for that.

There is no point limit for new contract. How long it will last before RCI change it and put a limit on this new contract, again?

Here is the reply from Claire regarding our inquiry

As you are aware I have been working for several weeks now on trying to clear up any outstanding issues and complaints left over from the previous management team. After what feels like a hundred meetings we are finally starting to see the changes taking place and are very happy with the progress so far. Many members on the resort have also let us know that they are starting to feel the changes and agree that having the 'gold band' once again means something.

To clarify some of the details in the mail you sent me below. One of the biggest issues was obviously RCI's sudden decision to make a change to the airfare and points partners section of the membership. It was beyond our control and as I believe was explained to you on your last trip down to us, we have tried to compensate by allowing members with that accelerated point program to be able to use their full equity to switch over into our new program. The details of this for you we can of course discuss and I will be very happy to help you do this if you have any interest in that idea.

As far as rates go, I understand the frustration for members who previously were not able to get any real answers to their questions. We are now in the process of setting up the premier members website to be clearer and simple to use and show all rack rates and members rates for all differnent categories of rooms available in each resort. We hope this will make it easier for you and all our members to be able to see the comparison and savings from using their membership. The benefits of the gold band have also been reviewed and once finalised and signed off on, i intend to have them also published on the website so members are clear of what to expect when visiting each hotel.

We will be providing ongoing training to our customer servvice staff and are looking for new ways to improve communication and make contact with us and the reservations process much more simple and efficient. A regular E newsletter is also planned to keep in touch with members and make them away of any changes and additions and also so they are aware that they are important to us not only when they are staying in our resorts!!!!

I understand the frustrations of the past and hope that in time we can come to a conclusion that will put an end to the bad feeling and allow you and others to do what it is they bought the membership for originally..... enjoy vacation and travel the world!!!

    Kindest Regards

    Claire Wright

Hopefully all these new solutions and updates don't fall on deaf ears again as in the past. Stupid newsletter/email I've been requesting for 8 years now everytime I go down. Told them everytime if it wasn't for this site I won't know anything about changes to Premier or the resort in general.

Makes you wonder if they actually really care now or if its nothing more then a decline in membership sales that are forcing them to change.

I'd also like to know how they got Bert out of there. My understanding was he was the owner of timeshare group (whitesands? or something like that). Did they buy him out? Won't surprise me if he still in charge just off site and unseen or heard of. Just seems like it would be a huge ordeal to get him/company out of the picture.

I have asked the same qestions several times, about Bert, is he really out of the picture? He was co-owner of the timeshare co. I believe the other owner was one of the sons of the resorts' owner( if I remember right he was a silent parnter)I guess the resort could have booted him, if they refused to honor any of his sales what could he do but leave! As far as the news letter goes, I guess I will wait and see and give Claire a chance to produce it. I am interested in seeing the chart that shows how much we save over non-members, havent got a clue how they will try to prove that! Terry

I did reply to Claire's email. I AM willing to negotiate a new contract WITHOUT spending any more money. Period.

This is what I proposed to her:

    New Contract we would consider:

    • Bonus weeks: 4
    • Bonus Week referral Program enrolment
    • RCI Points: 150,000 per year
3.75 Million Points over 25 years
    • Yacht Membership – No cost to members when booked as a non-private tour. $350 for a private tour.
    • No Yearly Maintenance fees
    • One NEW RCI account with membership. We pay the yearly fee as originally agreed to.
    • No RCI points transfer fee for the first 150,000 points deposited per year - $115 fee for each additional 150,000 points transferred
    • 120 day guarantee room availability except for take over’s
    • Guaranteed 20% off Lowest posted Internet price at any Travel agent site including the Premier web site but not limited to the Premier web site.
    • Full membership benefits associated with each resort.
(To be provided in writing with new contract for each resort)
    • New Contract fee - $400
    • Rental Program Refund: $299(to be applied toward the $400 Application for a new contract.)
    • Buy back ALL Four (4) of the 2009 Bonus week under the new contract for $100 for each week. Premier is to apply these buy back week payments toward the new contract fees.
    • Premier will be compensated a total of $699 with these buy back/refund fees for the inception of a new contract.

Compensation for RCI points we would be loosing and Bonus weeks we are giving back per year:

We would be giving back a total of 1,174,800 RCI points with a new contract.
RCI compensates members the following for point’s partner purchases:
$540 for each 55,000 points used
$2,000 for each 200,000 points used
This would give us a potential savings with these points a total between $11,535 and $11,748.
WE DO NOT expect to be compensated this by any means. That is not our expectation. WE would like to be compensated with the following:
    • Six (6) AI weeks. Assuming an AI rate of $1,000 a week per couple at Blue Bay or Temptations Resort and Spa. This would compensate us a total of $6,000 for the loss of the RCI points AND bonus weeks.
    1. Blue Bay Family would be for two (2) adults and one (1) child under the age of 10 years old for a one week stay (7 nights/8 days).
    2. Temptations resort and Spa for two (2) adults for a one week stay (7 nights/8 days).
    3. We would like the option to use one AI week at Desire Resort and Spa to discount the total AI rate by 3 days for our Total AI stay.
    4. No blackout dates
    5. No booking fees wit the AI weeks
    6. No restrictions apply

    MikenShelley:

We are late to this particular thread, so please excuse us if we are redundant in our questions. We've read the last few pages, and some of the concerns you all have voiced seem similar to ours, although we have only been members for 17 months.

Our concern centers mostly on the ability (or lack thereof) of booking the four free AI weeks we have as part of our contract (not the four bonus weeks per year, but 4 free AI weeks total over 25 years). We must wait to book our week no more than 60 days before visiting and when we tried to book 55 days before arriving on October 6 of this year, we were told there was no availability. Long story short, I had to pull teeth to finally get the free week booked (it is, after, low season and I'm confident the resort has openings) and I am concerned about booking the next three of these babies. I purchase my own airfare and it is hard to do this when booking only 60 days before our trip commences. As you and others have stated, one has to wonder what kind of benefits are truly accruing to Premier "members" and I hope Claire is able to help this along.

While we are there for our free week, should we consider meeting with someone to discuss possible changes, or would this only apply to "older" contracts? We're not certain if your concerns are rooted in the antiquated policies in your contracts or if everyone is in the same boat.

Thanks for your time and for being a "watchdog" for the rest of us.

    Greg and Trish

    member watch out.

    hate to be negrative here.

I do not see any improvement, but more get taken away from member. we do not get to reduce what we agree to pay in monthly but Premier get to take away from contract as they see fit.

    1. Premier member now get ONE lobster dinner, not TWO as before.
    2. Premier member doesnot get Section D, ocean view guarantee, it is now a Garden view. and must check how much for Ocean view.
    3. Premier guests, need to pay $49.00 to receive same benifit.
    4. When I was there last June, the shelf liqour is just more cheap stuffs.

There are just words which I do not trust them at all.

These words are what said in my last email, when I ask TTR about the Premier benefits.

My intention is to try to help you as much as I can but I do not work on the reservation department and they are constantly up-dating their promotions and the can change with our further notice so please I ask you to please check availability and rates for the resort and dates your possible bonus week buyers.

Also I wanted to clarify something to get the accurate description of the room and rates please check the official web-site example:

    http://www.premierbyoriginalresorts...up.asp?fileID=406&hotel=Temptation Resort Spa

Temptations garden view $68.00usd per Pearson, for member, for 2 = 136.00usd for the entire week $952.00usd tax included

Please check rates for ocean view

A couple of things that I am glad I got in writing were I could use as many of my AI weeks as I want a year and I am guaranteed a room over the sexy pool.

When I booked my trip for Nov. they tried to say I couldn't use one of my AI weeks because you are only allowed one a year and I had already used two. I emailed my contract and they apologized and said they would update their records so it wouldn't happen again.
