You are absolutely right about immediate resolution. I was originally told someone had to be in the room or I would have to wait until the morning. Completely unacceptable. If the phone died and I couldn’t ping it, or they woke up and turned it off, it’s gone. I was cool/nice until I found out they they wouldn’t open the door, the police were not called,( many different things were said, they have rights, someone inside the room has to be conscious, management did not have any rights to open it). Then I kinda lost my cool. I don’t know if I would have had the happy resolution without raising my voice, showing my ass, but in the end, we got the most important thing back. And yes, you are absolutely right about my patronage being replaced by the massive advertising budget. It just leaves a bad taste in your mouth. I have never had this issue happen within the US but in my mind I’d like to think It would be ha does differently…
It was made very clear to us today that Corporate Temptation will most likely do nothing for us because our stuff was not in the safe. We feel like we’re getting the runaround. We will probably contact a lawyer when we get home. The head of security specifically told us that a women in a dress entered our room they the front door. Now management is claiming it didn’t happen and they won’t show us the footage. It’s sad because all of the playmakers and employees have been amazing. I hate to be blasting like this on here but people need to know to be careful.
Wow! I’m so sorry for the experience you both went through. Nothing worse than going away on vacation and someone stealing from you! It’ll be my first time at the resort this Friday with my friends and I’m actually heavily considering ordering an indoor camera for our room to set up just for precautions with some of the recent posts I’ve seen.
Not a horrible idea either. Now I'm locking into a lock bag for the pool and a pet cam for the room Rather be safe
On the cameras - Just remember to turn the camera off when you are in the room or your whole “vacation” might end up in the internet (assuming you will use the hotel WiFi to monitor it?). I am not an IT expert but would be a bit wary of that in this day and age…… unless of course that works for you
Usually just alerts your phone if there's movement. Some of them have audio and video. You can save the footage in the cloud or on your phones memory, or a card. Doesn't typically upload to social media, unless someone hacked my camera. And honestly I room with with bestie so just us dancing around naked. But ya I wouldn't leave it on then. Lmao
Canadians here hoping to change the vibe! We were last there in 2016 and are going this August. I remember some similar stories in 2016 that made us very uncomfortable about going but we had a blast, hoping the same this time. Check with your employer's insurance and also your credit card, you have may theft coverage and not know it (who does until they need it, right?)
Anyone have recommendations for a travel security camera? Does not have to be fancy, but just maybe alerts your phone and keeps footage on a cloud of some sort. For what it's worth, I found a nice small travel bag that locks and you can tether it to your beach chair. It's made by Vaultz and goes for about $25 on Amazon.
A lot to catch up on, which I'll read through later. But I mentioned the staff entrance earlier, and how difficult it would be to smuggle anything out past the security. Here's a pic of the staff entrance/exit I took yesterday on the way to the Boobs Cruise.
