Yes it sucks , your personal space has been violated and items stolen . However ….. If you had left the items in your car and it was broken into and the items stolen would you go after to owner of the parking lot or whoever owned the space you were parked in . Good luck with that … People have to start taking responsibility FOR THEMSELVES AND THEIR STUFF ……PERIOD . My sons car was broken into and his laptop stolen , I asked him where was it and he said “I left in the back seat “ My answer , “well guess your out a laptop for stupidity” ….lesson learned .

Wasn’t my post….he called someone else out. I replied to that persons post. Words matter but not as much as accuracy and truth….But feel free to jump in . Though I agree with @Steve so will focus on not trying to scare new people away with hyperbole and warnings. TTR is still the best place to just reinvent yourself, double down on yourself, make great friends and have fun you can’t have anywhere else. It is this community that makes it so (as well as the BC!!!) so if it goes to shit we can’t blame management or others, we just have to try harder next time!
For what it's worth, there's a very recent review on TripAdvisor from a guest who had a similar experience. This reviewer had items stolen from poolside. He also mentioned many of the disturbing behaviors a few others have posted on this forum. Just a reminder to be vigilant everyone and to not let your guard down. We can still have fun at one of the best resorts anywhere.
We have been going for a long time. Yes this has been going on for a long time. Just ask either victor bout the 5’10 redhead who knocked out the single guy back in bout 2016. They both saw it. Shiiiits been happening for years. But. I will always defend someone for posting true facts that happened to them and will not blame them for what happened. It’s ridiculous. We should all appreciate Steve and his wife for allowing this to be posted on his forum.
Every person has a reason for taking phone and other valuables to the pool. We lock every thing of value in the safe. when we go to the pool we only take cigs, lighter, and tip money. No need for anything else. Tip money is in pocket of my trunks. When I tip with wet money they do not care. I go back to room a couple times a day and check phone for emergence calls from home. am sorry for anyone who has had things stolen but know this resort is safe. Just know things happen every where.
No one blamed them. This is getting a bit fucking ridiculous. The thing that set everyone off was them saying it was their own fault then saying they were going to sue the resort. Because it was the resorts fault. Shit happens every where and it sucks but it’s a typical American attitude I am mad that this happened so I’m going to sue. Collect your fucking insurance money and walk away lesson learned.
We feel the same. Our first trip is booked for September but a lot of recent posts/threads are making us rethink going to TTR. We just want to go have fun, be care free and not have to worry about douchy drunk frat boys, making sure our thing down get stolen. Really doesn’t sound like fun. As someone else said maybe they should make it into a couples resort?
if they made it a couples resort they would loose a lot of guests we go because they let singles in .. we have tons of friends male and female who are single if we want a couples only resort you have not just Desire but a lot more and some couples resorts limit the couples to m/f how is that any fun we have always found one of the reasons TTR is so great is because of the variety of people and we really have never had an issue with single guys more issues with couples who think they can do anything they want
