Bribing Police is not uncommon at all.......at least as reported over the years. Most of what we've heard has to do with public drunkeness and traffic offenses.

Calling the Embasy was a very good first move. They will attempt to solve local issues.........but this response does seem sketch.

Nothing to do with a conspiracy of silence.

I didn't notice the thread for a while since it was in the Reviews forum, it should have gone to the main forum first. Then when I did notice it it was shortly before we left for several nights at Temptation and there weren't many replies at the time. We've only been back a day.

I read it on Facebook where it was treated with some skepticism too, and I noticed that the OP joined the FB group specifically to make her post and then never made any further comment, as she has not done here either nor even logged back in to read replies.

Jannet also received a PM on Facebook from someone that was there that knows the person and added further doubt to the story. The OP mentioned she had been on the Boobs Cruise and had gotten very drunk before returning to her room. I didn't go on that particular cruise but I know the boat had to come back half an hour early because of a very drunken lady. I don't know if the OP is the same person or, if she is, if that has any relevance.

As for the incident, I hope it is not true but either way I wasn't there, I don't know her or anyone who does. I haven't spoke to any higher ups about it, it's none of my business. I have no added information to offer, and even if I did I wouldn't on a public forum anyway.

To me it seems so full of holes that I am having a difficult time believing this version. I suspect there is a lot more to the story than posted. I cant help but think that by posting it in various places such as here FB, Trip Advisor etc and then not checking back the OP's motive seems to be more about damaging the hotel than seeking any kind of redress.

If we, the CCC peeps, were a jury... I don't think the O/P would win her case.

I have many years experience working as a bar manager and it was always fascinating seeing the different effects alcohol had on people and their memories of what occurred. We had this one lady that drunk and upset and crying so it was time for her to go. As I was waiting outside with her for the taxi to pick up she is leaning against the wall crying, and starts banging the back of head against the wall trying to hurt herself. I put my hand behind her head and held her trying to cushion the blow. She eventually settled down, got in the cab and went home. The next day she was telling anybody and everybody on social media that she was beat up and assaulted outside the bar and her assailant kept banging her head against the wall, and that everyone should stop going to the bar because we let that happen.

I'm not saying this person was or was not raped, but call me skeptical anytime a story like that starts out with "I was drunk"

Just my opinion, if I would’ve read one other persons story on here saying they actually witnessed an irate guest “punch” an employee, and then was arrested and escorted off the premises, then I could put a little more stock into this story. But for some reason, I just can’t believe how that, no one in that huge, wide open lobby ever witness anyone at the front desk, screaming and yelling about anything like this, because believe me, if I personally thought for one second, that an employee from there, or anywhere, came into my room and tried that with my wife, then you can be assured that I would be in that lobby, and on the OTHER side of the front desk, punching out a few different employees, making a HUGE scene that everybody that was there would remember so........ just saying! Not saying it couldn’t have happened but, I need more proof than just one side of a serious story like this. I would hate to think that someone would put a very serious story like this on here, just because they got there and realized they dont get the top shelf liquors or the beautiful ocean view from their room like they thought they were promised and then decided to bash TTR from here on out. Not saying that there’s not a few bad eggs out there (wait staff) to ruin it for everybody but, from our past experience, we couldn’t have asked for a better waitstaff or felt any safer. I do believe the part about the Boobs Cruise and the falling down part though lol! November 5th just can’t get here soon enough. This is a very serious story if true, but skeptical.

This history is not truthful at all , when you mix alcohol and other things , the consequences can be really bad , I saw an episode like this 3 years ago exactly in October 2015 , a group of Russian friends starts to argue in the front desk about a similar history , like an employee of TTR tries to violate or have sex with one of their girlfriends , the issue never of that happens , they were totally drunk arguing for something that never happens , this guys start to punch everybody (all the staff at front desk ) including a lady , they got arrested I saw that , this is very similar at that case , my question is why they are demanding respect and other room if this girl was totally disrespectful to the staff also her husband punch the TTR staff , if the hotel wants they can be charged in the police station with a very hard charges . To bad to hear that but that happens when you mix alcohol and get over drunk , that’s the consequences.

The OP asks what she could've done differently and how she could have prevented it from happening. She doesn't say how the supposed employee got into the room. Was the door open or did they use a key card? Card usage can be tracked and whose card it was. She could've drank more responsibly. Her husband could've not punched anyone. They should've called the embassy before anything else.

Here's a warning or rather common sense suggestion:
If your significant other is effectively suffering the effects of alcohol poisoning - don't leave them alone - EVER! Especially not in a foreign third world country...

Wow, never thought of Mexico as a “third world” country!
But your advice is spot on.
