The problem in my opinion is the ones out there that will use a gun for malicious acts are the ones who will get one illegaly through the black market. I agree some restrictions should be in place in order to buy guns you can only take that so far. I don't currently own a gun but growing up we always had several in the house for hunting purposes and target shooting. I would like to get a shotgun or pistol for my home as there have been many instances of a few people in my area having their homes broken into while they where there being shot/held at gun point, beat and women raped. I am one of those that believe I should have the right to protect myself in my own home by any means necessary. That's all I'm going to say on this subject. My heart and prayers go out to all the family's affected by this tragic event. But in my opinion no matter what the restrictions on gun purchases this guy went out w/ the intent of hurting/killing many people and would have succeeded even if he wasn't able to so easily obtain a gun.
I worry about copycat killings in the days, weeks, months, years to come!! Everyone please be safe and be aware of your surroundings!!
Couldn't agree more dude...Emotional, drunk, unstable and deruuged people can do crazy things...If they didnt have the means to shoot others in this state, many of these incidents could not happen...Thankfully ONLY (ridiculous to say only) 2 people lost their lives over the weekend at NASA...could have been worse...Anyway looks like there will be no changes and more deaths judging by the replies. By the way...I have gone clay pigeon shooting but don't wish to have gun...not a pacifist by any means...just think this is senseless...done now byeee
When it's easier to get a gun legaly that will do what you want ... why go to the black market. The majority of gun crimes are commited by guns that were originally bought through legal channels. They were either used by the owners or stolen from them for the crime.
Ever feel like you're pissin in the wind dude? Think we should all get at least one bazooka, a kalashnakov, 2 glocks, 4 grenades and at least 4 sidearms...then we'll all be safer!!! I'll be Billy the Kid and you can be Wyatt Earp!!!
I know you're bein sarchastic but there are some people out there that really think like that.... screw everyone else I want to protect me. But what happens to the poor kid that play's with that idiots loaded weapon?... we hear about it time and time again.... kids taking loaded weapons to school for show and tell.... playing at home where the gun cabnet was unlocked, etc, etc.
My old boss, a bank manager used to hunt...he left the cabinet open (this sounds so like what you said:you'll think I'm making it up) and his 16 year old son, suffering from pressure at school with exams etc, blew his brains out with a shotgun...dunno whether he left it open or just left the keys somewhere, but he'll never get over that...how could you?
