Or play the skittle game...take a pack of skittles...each time you go to the bar pull one out...whatever colour it is that's the colour of your drink...just trust the tarbenders...they will take care of you! D
There are no mixologoists at TTR, no hand made gourmet cocktails except for the Sexy Coffee at the Italian restaurant. They will pour you as much as you like but generally make the drinks weak so you don't pass out in the hot hot sun as they see a lot of folks crash early. You have your pick of no-name well alcohol or if you choose to call a specific brand - they have a few of those too. Selection rotates from time to time with no high end brands represented unless you are a Premier member and even then, its not top shelf. So no Patron, Grey Goose, Chivas, Hendricks, or single malts. Smirnoff - Vodka Skol - Orange, Vanilla, and Apple flavored vodka Beefeater - Gin Jose Cuervo Gold - tequila 100 Anos - 100% Agave tequila Bacardi - Rum Dos Equis Lager - Beer on tap Kentucky Gentlemen - Bourbon Canadian Club - Whiskey They sometimes have fresh bananas & whole coconuts - walking around with a 5lb green coconut with a pina colada in it is kinda cool but very tiring.
They have Captain Morgan's too. Skol as the house vodka. Absolut and sometimes Sky as the premier vodka but I have asked very nicely ($) and gotten sky when not a premier.
They have Baileys at the quiet pool for sure, Ali and I would each get a large one and put it in the room fridge for coffee in the morning. That was on our first trip, now we just get to the pool as soon as we can and have coffee with breakfast. It's all about time management lol
They have all that. It's just a different atmosphere than I think your anticipating is all. The pool bar and paty-o's is more of a "pour some shit in a glass and sling it quick cause they have to serve 10 drinks per minute to keep up" sort of thing. But by all means order whatever you like. They have a drink chart there too that you can work through if you want to try a variety of different drinks. The restaurants at night can go as fancy as you like and they are more of a high end dining experience. You should expect the good stuff there. Then when you go to Paty-o's and it's in full swing, they are back to just slinging as fast as they can again. But yes, they all have 50-100 bottles of various liqueurs and can generally make anything. Or at least a close proximity thereof.
Hey everyone as newbies we wondered if we should bring our cheap dollar store set of test tube shot glasses (plastic), or does the resort already them or something similar for special shots. WINK J
Ahh thanks for the info...it wasn't so much for me, I'm sure that Me, Mr. Bacardi and Mr. Dos Equos will get along just fine. It's the Mrs who likes her Mudslides, Fallen Angel's, Chocolate Martini's etc...
Grand Marnier - LOL. Yeah - no. They have Triple Sec in an off brand. Bailey's - we have not seen that brand, but they do have a Irish cream liquer - but we could be wrong as we don't drink the stuff. They have a wide selection of off brands to make most drinks - caution, each bartender makes em slightly different. As for the restaurants making better more sophisticated drinks - nah, not really. Same ingredients at all the bars - the differecne is at dinner they put it in a real glass - at all other bars you get a 10-12oz clear plastic cup that is most likely cracked, chipped, and quite hazey. You honestly won't care what your being served most of the time so don't fret about alcohol selection.
