DConCT, not to shabby but I can see where people might be complaining about the slant. Did you stay at the Oasis, and if so, what did you think of your stay there? I ask because the Oasis' resorts in Cancun get negative to mixed reviews at best.

CancunCanuck, you have always given some of the best advice. While pics don't lie, why would you want to mislead anyone about a subject such as sand? That makes no sense. My best advice to you, stay far away from that board and post more here.

    Eric,

I did not stay at the Oasis, I was all the way on top of the 7 at the Carrousel. I've heard that the rooms and food were subpar at the Oasis, but the drinks, pool, beach, and activities were top notch.

I stayed at the oasis march 9-16, had no problems with the place!! My first time staying there, so I guess I had an idea of what to expect. Lovely hotel, lobby, pool, beach, ect.............. our room was just fine as well! Huge king size bed, comfortable, newly painted, everything worked for us! Food was ok, I never tried the nuggest and hot dogs being served, always went to the sit down place for buffet for breakfast and dinner, had no problems!! Good food for the most part! The sushi bar there was good also!! Great for a party place, Id go elsewhere for a calm, relaxing vacation! 3-4 stars at best, but pretty good over all.

Of course, you were at the Grand Oasis Jason, with access to better facilities, rooms, and restaurants that the guests at the Oasis Cancun did not have access to.

actually dennis they did not put us at the grand, we were at the regular oasis! Only complaint was that in the hallway, there were wet spots, puddles of water in certain places.

At least you got an ocean view room though. I can't believe they didn't at least upgrade you to the grand. The grounds at the oasis are great minus the beach which can use some work. The air conditioning in my room didnt work when we arrived, for some reason empty paper towel rolls were stuck above the frame of the sliding glass for some reason, paint all over the balcony, toilet was dirty and smelly, tv sucked, door on dresser was completely broken off and no blankets on the beds (just sheets and top comforter). This room was much worse than the days inn i stayed at in south padre last year.

    jw marriott beach

I'm here in Cancun now. This is our first trip here so I have nothing to compare the beach to other than the beaches in Hilton Head, SC.

Yesterday on the beach I saw large rocks. The water is pretty close to the steps leading up to the pool area. There is not much open sand area to set up chairs or just hang out on. Also, there was a wall of sand I had to climb down before getting to the water area.

We have been setting up our chairs around the pool and walking down to the beach if we want to play in the waves or sand.
