dennis, my buddy's here at work go all the time, they said take advantage of the books they give you when you arrive. There are coupons for free drinks, free games, free money at the casino/hotel! Just thought Id pass that along.
YEah the books and all the coupons people hand out ont he streets are a great way to save money. Also note th price differences, you can buy beer at one gas station for a completly different price across the street. The Falmingo Buffet is pretty reasonable, and not too bad. And near the Riveara (sp?) is a great place for breakie. Can't recall the name...But portions are huge and it's like a old style diner. Clubs can be pricey so watch out for bouncers with free passes, and such
For nightlife that is not of the ordinary variety and somewhat cheap (by Vegas standards) check out the Double Down Saloon or the Peppermill Fireside Lounge. The Double Down is the kind of authentic rock n roll kind of place that the Hard Rock only wishes it could be. The Peppermill is as close as you can get to a vintage style Vegas lounge these days.
