Been to Vegas 4 times, just return from a week in Vegas. Having done Vegas on the high end (MGM) & the low end LUXOR, & have stayed at TTR 4 times, my 5th trip being Nov 10th-17th. I also pick TTR
My husband and I debate this a lot. We went to Vegas tiger get for the desconfía time in Mid June and then went to TTR at the end of July/ beginning of August. We had such an amazing time at both places that it's hard to say, but I like the way my hubby put it: if you have the right crowd at TTR it's a blast, regardless of the crowd you will have fun in Vegas. I do have to add that Vegas is a completely different kind of "fun" lol, and yes, much more expensive. At TTR you get a bang for your bucks - in Vegas yOu lose your bucks for the most part. So why pick? Just do both if you can...totally worth it. If you're smart and look for the deals for Vegas it's not as bad.
TTR usually wins out. It's sometimes easier to rally a group of local friends to go to vegas and just drive out, but the expense of it all gets old fast. I'd be scared to know what our bar tab would be in vegas if it was for the amount we'll drink at TTR. 10 bucks for a metal bottle of bud light or some other crap beer at the pool? No thanks!! We do like some of the premium night clubs in vegas but once you pay a crazy cover fee and 15 dollar drinks then it starts to lose it's luster. Since we started going to TTR that's the only place we've really wanted to go and this next trip is with two other couples we met at ttr in times past so it'll be even more fun from the get-go. The atmosphere at ttr is just so much more fun and let loose to. People are just so much more friendly and open at TTR. Counting our upcoming trip in October, we'll have 28 nights spent at TTR from last october to this one, haha!
Thinking we will cancel our annual Thanksgivng Vegas trip and go for a 4 night TTR ........Hope MGM forgives me and still sends tickets to the Superbowl party...........
We do have an awesome life!!!! I understand you guys do Mardi Gras when you can. Are you thinking about heading down next year?
Good to know Cancun is just as fun as Vegas but cheaper. We always considered a trip to Vegas, but prices just for flight & hotel are more than twice as much as TTR, for the cheapest hotel too. I don't think I'll bother unless I get a major promotion in the future!
We just took a road trip from VA to Key West and then Myrtle Beach on our way back up and spent as much or more than if we had of gone to Temptation. It included 4 days of driving and sleeping in a rest area one night.
