I need to talk with people from the Island regarding the Swine Flu. I canceled my vacations to Isla Mujeres because of it. Now i read that no cases of has been yet reported. Do you think i should go, and bring my medications with me just in case? Do you think we should wait more to visit Isla Mujeres? Are people from Isla Mujeres wearing a mask? How many people from mainland (Mexico) visit Isla Mujeres on a regular basis.
May I ask why you cancelled your vacation? It had to have been a knee jerk reaction. Go! Go! Go! That is what all the posts say. You will not get any other answer here then that.
Go My all means, GO. If you want additional first hand info check out www.islamujeres.info Jimmy BTW my avitar was taken at Jax bar on isla. When you get off the ferry turn left and walk to the end of the street and there it is. The owners are from Texas and super nice.
Thank you Thanks to all for your ealy responses. After reading a little bit more about it and after reading all your post I decided to fly this weekend.. Vacation here we come.... Once again Thank you
Now thats the spirit Bleueyes!! Let us know how your trip went when you return home and have a great trip!
To my knowledge there has not been a single reported case of swine flu in all of Quintana Roo, the state where, Cancun, Isla Mujeres, Playa del Carmen, Tulum etc are located. Come on down. The weather is near perfect. Gets a little cloudy in the afternoon and cools it off a bit, but still beach weather during daylight.
While there is no reason not to come to Quintana Roo, things are quite clear now, I do think it's necessary to be clear that there were 27 confirmed cases in Quintana Roo. No deaths reported, but 27 people in the state were definitely infected during the "infodemic". They were all main land, nothing on Cozumel or Isla Mujeres and only 2 that I know of were in Cancun proper. Not trying to be negative, just getting the facts clear.
