blog It's funny that RG suggested the blog because CancunGringa and I were going to make the same suggestion! V, many of your posts are informative, but I agree with Laura, I think you would serve more readers in a blog format. No doubt, it would be an interesting blog.
Okay, I'll bite...Vacationer, vacuumer, valet, vampire, vegetarian, vegan, veiler, veneerer, ventriloquist, vermin, veterinarian, vibrator, vicar, villian, violent, Virgo, visitor, Voldemort (extra credit), volunteer, voyeur? Curious minds want to know.
This is going to be boring, and not funny, either. "V", as a user name, is invariably available, as unused, on websites I want to access. Probably there are other, single letters of the alphabet that are also not often employed: this just happened to be the first one I tried. Told you....
(Age test below, how many of us remember JoAnne Worley?) You are absolutely correct. Boooorrrrriiiiinnnngggg!
Well, I certainly think a blog with the ins and outs of living in Cancun would be useful, whether it's written by V or not. But I agree that V has the attention to detail to make it a useful resource for us expats.
THE FORUM When my wife and I were considering relocating to Cancun, we didn't find it particularly easy to locate quality, easily accessible and comprehensive information about life here. This forum was one of the few places I could learn about Cancun, but I had to use the search facility, and pull bits and pieces together, to get anywhere; for example, getting in and out of the airport, if you happened to hold an FM3. The information was here, and it was potentially useful, but no one had attempted to pull it together. I did that, taking a comment from one poster, then another, cutting and pasting, and finally printing a set of instructions for my wife to use after she got her FM3, trusting that the information presented by the posters was accurate: my wife used that information, successfully, in getting in and out of the country, the first time. Do this with other comments relating to life here, carefully choosing the quality ones among them, and you could have a truly useful source of information for a wide variety of people, on this forum, I suppose. Each of us has a contribution to make, and each does so in their own way. Most of us post about those things we know best, and have an interest in: I am no exception. There is a chance that this forum is being read by a wider audience than the eight-ten people who post here, regularly. Some of my serious pieces have been written with that wider audience, of which I was once a part, in mind. As to the suggestion, RG, of starting a blog, I'm reminded of what Steve wrote of his aspirations for this forum when he opened, "Living in Cancun." What he couldn't have anticipated is the degree to which useful information could get lost in the new, "Living in Cancun," as well. I'm trying to remedy that, in a small way. My thanks to all who offered their comments on this, a thread devoted to "V." What do I owe you, RG? Oh... hmm, well..., "The check's in the mail!" [And, now, I'm probably be going to be hearing from Mixz1, about his bill- for suggesting an eye catching "V" logo!]
V I think you should take up the challenge and write a blog. I would definately read it, especially if it has lots of sport in it. Tracey x
