Okay. I followed your directions. What they're doing is providing you with a proxy, so it's transparent to the user. So far so good. But after I sign up, they want a credit card. So this is a pay site, no? Or am I missing something (again).
It is not a pay site. You can pay if you want for unlimited access on mega video, but there is no need if you just look at the other links for a free one. Once you get a hang of it, it is easy and free. You can also try episodeonline.com. The quality is not as good as Yidio and there are more pop ups, but it might be easier to navigate.
We use surfthechannel.com. They dont host anything on their site but have a directory indexed for sites like megavideo.com. Megavideo has tons of content but not search friendly by itself since the names of the shows and movies are usually abbreviated or totally changed so the powers that be cant have it pulled due to copyright issues. We pay for the yearly fee for megavideo, which is only like 40 usd per year and worth it for as much as we watch it.
MIXZ1 - I have used babblebug.com many times to help friends/family that need credit on their telcel , I even put credit on my telcel while in the states, so when I land in Cancun I have credit ready to go. They do call you the first time, Im pretty sure you need a US # , but not sure. its basically a good service if your expat struggling and you need some help from back home , a USD $10 or USD $20 top up on telcel can go a long way . TJ I dont like to use CHEAP TJ , I prefer Efficient TJ in my above % yes I realize its a diverse group , Im more aligned to your views , but RG and V , painfully force me to look at things in another light . then I watch FOX news and everything is back in place, ja ja ja
I signed up, called to verify and 10 seconds later the credit appeared on my phone. The first time was a bit convoluted as they're not set up to use a non-US phone number, but by Skyping to their 800 number, the account was set up. The 3 peso service charge is trivial. I'll still recharge the phone when I go shopping, but in a pinch, it's a great service.
I have a Sling Box at my FL house, connected through my cable system there. There is no charge for slinging the signal. The box itself is smaller than my digital cable box and I got it for about $200 on eBay. I think retail is $299 plus tax. I can watch, on my laptop, no matter where I am, provided the signal is sufficient, the same shows I could be watching if in FL. Then I bought a Sling Catcher, on sale at Best Buy in Dec for $99. Regular price I think was $149 or $179, and this is installed at my home in Cancun. With this I can watch the programs directly on my TV, with no need to connect the laptop to the TV with any cables. All legal and free, except for the one time purchase of the equipment. I would be paying the cable in FL anyway since I watch TV and get on the internet when there. Thanks to Bundy, my technical advisor, I can watch the Orlando Magic playoff game tonight, where hopefully we will complete our 2nd straight 4-0 sweep.
TJ - I would like some more info on this slingbox , sounds like you might have found something I have been looking for so I would I have the slingbox in Texas , then my house in CUN would have the catcher and I could watch U.S. shows? what does the installation consist of?
