No I can kind of understand the 2 cab company thing. They may be assigned regions that they're allowed to operate in.

I drove a cab for a while. We were only licensed to pickup in the region that we were given (town). If I were to drive someone from one town to another I couldn't pick up someone for the return trip legally. It may be the same kind of think in PV.

It's supposed to stop the cab wars that would happen otherwise.

I'd be very suspicious....USA Transfers is owned by a Canadian... ;) lol

I would forward the email you received to the contact email you have from USA Transfers and ask them to verify it.

I goggled SINTRA Mexico and found it's a hotel chain? Nothing about Mexican regulations.

Thanks to everyone for your input! I'll wait for Steve's response/input AND contact Brant...... Although we won't be that eager to leave, we'd like some reassurance that we will be picked up and delivered to the airport on departure! Thanks again!

Looks like this might be legit.

I just found this on their website:

"Pay driver directly in full on arrival, US Dollars or pesos. "

Cancun Airport Transportation with Entertainment Plus

but if you look down at the FAQs it still talks about splitting for arrival and departure.

Let me explain a bit further the info as we have it. We ASSUME this is politically driven; elections are coming up and the taxi union is one of the most powerful organization in the country. You will see many taxis now with political banners in their windows. So all of a sudden a new government agency is formed to get the taxis more services. Instead of giving tourists the option to pay in cash for their transfers, Sintra's position is that all cash departures should belong to the taxis, by right. We understand this is to prevent "pirates" or unauthorized vehicles from doing services that should go to the taxis.

We suspect SINTRA will fall by the wayside after the elections, but for now we can only abide by the government's laws and try to make our clients' transfers as smooth and stress-free as possible.

What we know now is that you must now have a pre-paid departure voucher. I do not know of any company now that will take payment on departure. Entertainment Plus / USA Transfers was one of the last ones to offer this.

We have been in business since 1999 and we do not think you will find too many people complaining about us over the last 10 yrs. We rely heavily on repeat business and word of mouth advertising. We would be out of business pretty quickly if we didn't pick people up!

    Payment options:
    1. Pay the round trip in cash on arrival and $0 on departure
    2. Pay by PayPal or credit card (online if you are still in your home area or credit card over the phone if you are already in Mexico)

I want to thank you all for voicing your concerns and working with us while we implement this change in policy. You can contact us by Live Chat, Email, or by phone.

Sorry guys I missed this one.

As others mentioned I replied on the similar thread here:
    http://www.cancuncare.com/forum/cancun-info/16175-usa-transfers-being-regulated-sintra.html

Nothing at all to worry about. I know a lot of business owners in Mexico, and when it comes to trust and customer service E Plus is No 1.

I have to say, without Brant (owner of E plus) and his help and support both on a business level and personal this website wouldnt exist. Trust them as I do.
