Ive been to many places in Latin America off the tourist beaten path. The service you pay for at places like Temptation, will always get you the service and smiles. Get outside the tourist areas in other parts of Mexico, Central, and South America, and you arent very well accepted....at all. You get a lot of those..."what the fuck are you doing here??" looks. lol But yes, generally speaking, Americans are spoiled.
Nope.........none of that.......the resort wasn't close to full occupancy and they wouldn't give us our room till 3:30! I know that 3 is the check in time........we were free to use the resort before checkin........but they wouldn't give us a room! The guy, with a "smirk" on his face the entire time! We complained.......and have since received an apology from the resort. The dude didn't have to act the way he did! His actions were one thing.........his attitude another! EVERYONE else at the resort was exceptional!
Its not fair I think to judge mainland USA hospitality to 3rd world Resort style hospitality. They all work so hard for so little. But we go to say for example Sea Sprite in Hermosa or Lighthouse in Key West these people love us and the streets and bars are a blast and we totally dig our Beach vacations in the USA. In Mexico or DR or Costa Rica the service is always so good AND PEOPLES SO NICE but the rooms can be sorta sub par and the food is so so but we have a blast there too Honest, if USA had 140 a night Beach front all inclusive it would be so awesome. I want to go to some great places but a week USA would be twice the price so we dig the whole Mexican Carribean or what have you but its not for the people or the food as much as the price.
Price isn't the issue for us. We don't pick a vacation based on price.........just can't see that. We've been all over MP 0 for years and years.......SoBe......Ft LaLa.....nice people but simply IOO......the folks at Temptation can't be beat!
If price isn't an issue than that would be so wonderful but we try to get the most bang for our buck since this enables us to go several times a year. We have friends, they never go on vacations. Americans throw away 1000's of vacation hours unused every year. There's a statistic somewhere. They take away our benefits and keep our wages low, no wonder, people afraid to take off. But not us. Lo is a Flight Attendant and if we're not going somewhere or getting back from somewhere then we're planning to go somewhere and that's the truth. Life is short. People always say "where you going this time" or "you're always so tan" or "I wish we were like you" but they don't go anywhere. Oh, I lost my train of thought. Lo is a Flight Attendant. Its her JOB to be nice to people everyday even with a big weekend behind her. I used to take people on bike trips down Haleakala and had to be happy and treat people nice even if they are ignorant. So anyway, us USA people are nice to our customers just like in Mexico, or we'll get fired. I think something worse happens to Mexicans if they're not nice because they're so tolerrrant of out drunk dumb asses. Did I write all that? Man I'm so High
..........and to think that I thought we were all "supposed" to be nice to people..... Really not looking for an argument here.........just wanted to state how very we were and always are impressed with the Staff at TTR.......the USA Transfer people......the folks we meet at the airport.....basically everyone we meet in Cancun. I know Steve is right.......there are people that aren't like those that we've met in Cancun. But.........we travel all over the US.................and the service and customer care we see here at home is lagging far behind what we experience in Cancun! Hey.........it's just an opinion.......no worries! Oh......btw...I'm not "high".......or drunk! Just sayin....
to be clear , are we in USA or Mexico now ??.. nope Canada,, maybe thats why I can't follow those posts ( or maybe they were edited )
I just got back from a trip with my wife, son and three grandsons. My son is 17 one of my grandsons is 9 and two are 10. We took them on a charter fishing trip off the Oregon coast. We were a little concerned with three kids that young but the fishing was great. The deck hands were there any time the boys needed anything. No way the service could have been better or friendlier. All of us caught our limit. when we got back to the resort we were staying at we went down to the pool to relax and my wife, son and myself sat in the hot tub. As we relaxed in the tub my son had a grand mall seizer. Luckily for us there just happened to be two R.N.s at the pool. He had never had anything like that before. As I pulled my son out of the hot tub both nurses were jumped right into the middle of the show one said I am an R.N. have been for 34 years let me help. The other said I am an R.N. also we will take care of him you go call an ambulance. With in 5 minutes there was an ambulance and three paramedics on the scene. Before the ambulance even left for the hospital there were two resort managers there letting us know they would look after the other boys until we got back. Later that night when we returned to the resort the first thing the manager said to us after asking how are son was doing is "We checked your reservation and saw you are scheduled to check out tomorrow. We didn't know if you would be ready so we booked you another night." This is a very nice resort. I had to book it a year in advance because it is always full. Sure we like Mexico, we have traveled to Canada and like it too. But I will tell you this. There are some pretty fine people right here in the USA also.
