was there any doubt that in the end team CANADA would come through. Way to go CANADA. Both teams played well, but I don't think the USA was happy with a silver. Like us they wanted gold.
I dont think anyone goes into a tournament hoping to win Silver...The case with the US, however, is that NO ONE outside of the US had any confidence they could make it even to the Gold medal game, with national powerhouses such as Canada, Russia, Sweden in the mix, the consensus was that those would be the teams shuffling up the medals at the end. Despite not taking home the gold, the US has to be proud of the effort they put in, the run they had was incredible and opens up the door for a strong return in Sochi 2014. Assuming Gary Bettman still allows NHL players to play in the Olympics, I have high hopes for the next go round.
