We're flying US airways this time around. We flew American last year and LOVED it, so quick and smooth, especially coming out of Cancun otw home. Unfortunately it was going to cost $200+ more per person for us to fly American this year so we are flying through Charlotte. I seem to remember mass chaos and long lines in the US Airways area getting out of Cancun, so I am praying that maybe things have improved? Flying American out of Cancun last time was super easy because they had self-check-in kiosks=no waiting in line. Either way, we're leaving for Mexico in 18 days, so if anything gets messed up I will just have a drink, and pack a couple of essentials in my carryon
in april when we were in cancun, all airlines checked in at the same kiosks... then you go up to each airline counter to check the bags... wasn't bad at all.
We flew United the first time, connecting in Houston - no problems other than the immigration/customs line in Houston was so long that we almost missed our connecting flight to Seattle (even with a 2.5 hour layover). We decided that flying US Airways would be better from Seattle because connecting through Phoenix would be a lot less busy coming home than Houston (and our options for Cancun flights from Seattle are really limited, basically US Airways or United - and no direct flights, sadly!). Anyway, we have flown 3 times in the last year and a half from Seattle to Cancun on US Airways with no problems. Connected on the way home one trip through Charlotte and immigration/customs was very fast (it is a breeze through Phoenix as well). The airline is fine, no different to me than any other as far as service goes. We had no trouble with delays or with our bags. The only real issue we had the last trip was with our bags getting wet while sitting outside in the rain before they were loaded in the plane. Next time, we will bring hard-sided luggage, as that is not the fault of the airline - and traveling to and from rainy areas we should have known better anyway!
Graeat I lie the customs info since we have a lay over in PHX on the way back for only an HR hope that's enough time
We flew US Airways last year and had no problems at all with the flight. My complaint was that it was like being trapped with a bunch of telemarketers as they took every opportunity to try to get people to sign up for their credit card. Each way and each leg from Salt Lake to Phoenix to Cancun we had at least four times when the speaker would crackle to life with someone telling us how great their card was. If you have noise canceling headphones, you will have no issues with US Airways.
We flew US Air the last 2 years to Cancun and had no problems. This year we are flying Airtran there and US Air home, due to fight times and prices.
I have flown w them a couple times haven't had any real problems. Saying that just 2 days ago got a email from them saying my flights have changed. Nothing major at all just a extra 30min layover and leave 30 min later on another flight. Its definetly not the end of the world. It still getting me to TTR were I want to be.
