We asked and they said "normally 100 but we could do 50," We pushed on this and got it down to 30 but ended up keep our original room.
Paid $50 a night more. Upgrade at the resort when you check in. They will even let you look at the room first before you commit.
I have to say I agree with Sultryfox about the jacuzzi in the Temptation Suite being even nicer if they had the jacuzzi open to the balcony-patio area. We were at the excellence playa mujeres last August and they had that, where you could enter the tub from outside on the balcony or from the room, and you could open it up to the outdoors while "inside" sort of. Needless to say, we brought a little bit of TTR (i.e. the balcony show element) to the excellence that trip. Boo-yah! I really can't tell which room-level is my favorite, because the type we've liked the best so far has had the following: King bed Channel 12 Rainfall double-shower Big balcony with easy visual access both to & from sexy pool ... and I forget the rest as unimportant.
I love the idea of jacuzzi room, purely because it's in a quiet area of the hotel, ground floor, and a jacuzzi to chill in/by in the evening! At $50 a night, I could afford an upgrade for part of my holiday (just did some major overtime at work) which I'd consider using. I guess you do have to check out the room they allocate you first though, just in case it is just as nice. I don't think I could handle being put next to Paty O again for 2 weeks!
I thought they were IN THE balcony-patio area.. OH well I imagened that a nice relaxing soak would be great after a hard night partying and drinking. The Jacuzzi's in the sexy pool are cool but they are not hot
Been to TTR twice and got a jacuzzi room twice...My girlfriend uses it every night so its worth it to me..plus its so nice and quiet by the jacuzzi rooms
Exactly...and some jacuzzi rooms have privacy shades. Our first room did...the second didn't. It was much more fun without the shade...except for all the drunk people in the pool cheering and watching. What's up with that? ;-)
Lee-Anne, my understanding is that all the jacuzzis are on the patios, EXCEPT in the Temptation suites, which are (I guess) super-deluxe rooms. Sultryfox could clarify that for you. I would certainly not want a jacuzzi inside the bathroom on my Cancun holiday. That's fine for wintertime at home, but not in Cancun. The jacuzzi suite I was in, I could have jacuzzied with a glass of wine on the patio, looking out over the quiet pool area. I believe most of the ground floor rooms around the quiet pool are jacuzzi suites.
Yes, in the jacuzzi rooms they are on the patio and are more like large 2 person jetted tubs. In the Temptation Suites the jacuzzi tub is a triangle shape and it is in the bathroom as a combo shower/bathtub area. Would be much better to have the jetted tub on the patio in the suites, and just have a large open rainfall shower in the bathroom! Would make those suites great, instead of pretty nice. It is lame to have a jacuzzi tub in an enclosed bathroom in Cancun. At least they should allow the window to open or something.
