    Ill just gamble it. Shoot, I should of just went to Vegas huh???? LOL
    I just cant see myself in Cabo or Puerto Vallarta this year.

    ...OUTER BANDS ARRIVING ALONG THE EAST COAST OF THE YUCATAN
    PENINSULA...
    HURRICANE FORCE WINDS EXTEND OUTWARD UP TO 60 MILES...95 KM...FROM
    THE CENTER...AND TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS EXTEND OUTWARD UP TO 175
    MILES...280 KM.
    THE MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE REPORTED BY AN AIR FORCE RESERVE UNIT
    RECONNAISSANCE AIRCRAFT WAS 915 MB...27.02 INCHES.
    AT 800 PM EDT...0000Z...THE CENTER OF HURRICANE DEAN WAS LOCATED
    NEAR LATITUDE 18.2 NORTH...LONGITUDE 85.1 WEST OR ABOUT 210 MILES...
    335 KM...EAST OF CHETUMAL MEXICO.
    DEAN IS MOVING TOWARD THE WEST NEAR 20 MPH...32 KM/HR...AND A
    WESTWARD OR WEST-NORTHWESTWARD MOTION IS EXPECTED OVER THE NEXT 24
    HOURS. ON THIS TRACK THE CENTER OF THE HURRICANE IS EXPECTED TO
    MAKE LANDFALL ON THE YUCATAN PENINSULA VERY EARLY TUESDAY MORNING.
    HOWEVER...CONDITIONS ARE ALREADY BEGINNING TO DETERIORATE ALONG THE
    EAST COAST OF THE YUCATAN PENINSULA.

    It looks like a cat 5 to me.
    Are the heavy clouds rolling in yet???

    Clouds are here but no rain so far, and not very windy yet. Not where I am anyway.

    I've been watching the water vapour sat picture and every time any rain's got near us, it's moved away or died off. Not a drop here yet.

    Not a drop here either yet. Wind is def picking up with the occasional howl. Am seeing some spectacular lightning way off to the south though.

    Just had a look out on the street and lots of people that usually park their cars on Bonampak have them outside our house instead. They learnt from Wilma :)

    Chetumal

    Since Chetumal appears to be the likely target of Dean, what can people tell us about that town? Resort town or fishing village? Heavily populated? Construction? Major resorts?

    Steve, thank you and the others for the updates. Great interview by the way. It was amazing to me to see many people on the streets on the video you posted earlier. Really makes me yearn for Cancun. Be safe.
