Well that’s nice. But wouldn’t you want to know before you get to the airport. Pretty sure if you test positive they are going to put you in a hotel of their choosing. That’s an assumption on my part. We are coming in March and will test prior to leaving the hotel, at a testing facility of our choice and then evaluate our options at that point. We will also test before we leave to go to Mexico just to make sure. They sure have added a lot more stress to a vacation. Great info Steve would you happen to know if the test is before they check your bags. Common sense would say they would but I have lost faith in governments making sense.
Yes they will review your documents when you checkin or at bag drop. Us being froem Canada had to go through this 2 weeks ago when we departed TTR.
Yeah, we felt absolutely nothing after the 1st shot but we both felt a little crappy after the 2nd shot. We were able to work through it, but that probably amplified the crappy feeling. If I were at home on the couch it would have been fine. I described it to people as feeling "work shitty" but "home blah."
Rayanne having 2nd shot now. Will advise if symptoms. First one ~ 2 weeks ago knocked her for a loop for about 3 days. We both had covid in Sept and tested positive for antibodies in late Oct just before Halloween trip Also TTR at NYE and Desire Pearl after NYE...no issues.
Had COVID in November and just had the second dose last weekend. Had no side effects other than a sore arm.
We are fine with having to be tested. We will both have had both of our vaccination shots by mid Feb (1st week of April travel), and have either had it or tested positive for antibodies ....our issue is with the CDC quarantine for international travel upon return. Not so much the CDC but (our) employers are enforcing it. It’s just not doable. What are others doing!?
We're not so worried about quarantine upon return to the States, cause I do believe that it is only recommended according to that White House briefing unless that has changed over the past couple of days.. It's the stay in Mexico if a positive test comes into play... We are contemplating changing our trip to later in the year and maybe just going to Destin/Panama City or possibly The Florida Keys in April instead.... Southwest has some dirt cheap flights from Houston into Destin or Panama City for April right now.. Will be watching to see if anyone tested positive while down at TTR and was not allowed to board plane now that mandatory testing has began.. Would like to hear what goes down after positive test... We still prefer TTR, but not an extended stay due to a positive test.
Since the new CDC requirement kicked in today, I'd love to hear what the process was like having to show proof of a negative test at the airport from anyone traveling back this week. We were scheduled to go on our first TTR trip the third week of Feb but we moved it up to last week so we could get in and out before the new rule. We had an absolute blast and are already planning our next trip!
