United States To Require Covid Test To Return To Us..

OK, quick review of the EO, while pretty dry & boring reading, was a bit helpful in understanding. It isn't "in effect" quite yet, but is required to be so within 14 days of 01/21/2021 it appears, so Thursday, 02/04/2021. Yes, the self-quarantine measure seems to apply to all folks coming/returning to the USA by either Air or Ground. Over the next few weeks we can expect regulatory frameworks that get this more formalized, down to what type of test will be required and when, etc. What fun.

I just checked my calendar. We're scheduled to return 03/05/2021, so (if we're allowed), we'll get those quick response tests done Thursday afternoon/evening on the 9th day of being at DRM. 10-day quarantine later is 03/15/2021. Conveniently, I don't have anything but Zoom mediations and hearings between 03/08/2021 and 03/20/2021 so I'm good and Stacia works with me, so we're good and "We goin'!"

Question: Can someone direct me to Original Resort's posted stuff about testing positive and having to stay "there" (or at one of their other hotels at that $125/ppo/night posted above) so i can review it and understand what options there are?

May be selfish, but first opportunity to get back to a beach... necessary for mental health. Hers... and by trickle-down treatment modality reasons, mine.

 

Us being Candaians we have been doing this since last summer.
Today is our last day of quarantine after returning from TTR. Its been not too bad but the federal and provincial government do check up on us daily with a phone call. If they suspect we are not at home abiding by the rules they will send someone to the house to confirm we are home.
We dont regent going to Temptation for New Years but we are going to postpone our next trip as it seems the rules are getting tougher.

 

The way I read the WH briefing was the required and self quarantine was recommended

 

There is no way that the fed gov will be able to enforce it. It will be on the honor system. There is no infrastructure and it’s a state issue. Local and state police normally don’t enforce fed regulations, unless they are part of a task force, and those jobs are rare. In left leaning jurisdictions there may be new state and local ordinances/executive orders that mimic the fed order. In right leaning states I don’t see it happening, unless the fed gov’t ties it to funding other programs.

That said... if people don’t comply the feds can defiantly shut down flights and stop all travel. Or put the individual violator on a no fly list.

I have had covid ( in November and it was pretty mild) and I just got my second vaccine dose (symptoms were much worst than actually getting covid) so I am playing by the rules ...but they keep changing the rules. It sucks.

Pretty much. I can’t believe this is the position we are in a year after the virus started. I would have thought these measures would have been in effect last summer, not now with numbers dropping, and vaccines active.

 

It almost makes more sense to ONLY allow you in if you have covid and stay a minimum 14 days.

 

We agree. We live in the kingdom of Cuomo and have had “Mandatory” Quarantine in effect for months if we travelled out of state for more than a day or to certain states at all. As far as I know it is not followed or enforced???
