We canceled our trip. There is no way we can risk get stuck in Mexico for an extra 2 weeks...the cost of being there for that extra time, scrambling to find someone to care for your home/yard/pets/kids...the huge cost of missing 2 more weeks of work each, the massive stress of all of it and potential massive financial cost would definitely not be worth it. We will wait for all restrictions to be lifted before we book again.
They need to be a bit more transparent as this could easily turn into a money grab ( it is México). 14 days x $75 (each person) is $1K (if two people $2k) in extra income for each positive test (... hey Manny, need 60 positives today, we have openings....got it Boss!) and the “specially designated” room sounds like it could be in their Shawshank wing? Think I will get an independent test from the recommended (first available) cab driver.
Thought about the same/similar scenario. To be honest though, I think if anything it would be in Temptations best interest to make sure most, if not ALL tests are negative. While any hotel can be out to make an extra buck, TTR is all about making sure their guests have a smooth and pleasant vacation from start to end. The negative PR they would receive isn't worth the few "purpose" positives. My honest opinion - if you didn't have covid yet but are still taking the risk to party in TRR, expect to potentially get a positive test result. If like me you've had covid before, expect a negative and rock out with your out.
I agree. Was speaking more broadly about “Mexico” on the money grab but would also like more clarity on the “special” rooms just in case!
Mike, they're throwing your ass up to the roof top bar and you'll have an unlimited supply of fish tacos
You know, we'd be "in" for that sort of Quarantining. Stacia'd get the fish tacos and I'll see if I can finagle the same deal on those Cheese Sticks! Yum!
