I can't offer any new advice. Definitely call the airline and Cheap Caribbean and be prepared to provide a doctor's note. Either way, the important thing is that your hubby makes a full recovery and fast. (HUGS)
I am so thankful for all the advice and kind words. He is making progress everyday. It was found that he has a hole in his heart which allowed the clot to escape and cause the stroke. There are many things to be thankful for in this situation because it could be a whole lot worse. I plan on calling tomorrow and pouring my heart out. Hopefully, Cheap Caribbean will take mercy on me! Stay tuned for more later!
Sounds like you have the right outlook and being positive. That's most important for recovery! Keep positive cause your right it could always be worse. God bless
Update Again, I want to thank everyone for their kind words and advice. I wanted to share our good news! We were able to get credit for all but $400 of our trip. The airline has to review our request for a refund so we may also be able to recoup that $400. I was beyond happy when we got it all worked out. So as soon as the husband is well we are rebooking and will finally get to experience TTR!!!!!!!! Our friends that we were supposed to be going with are there right now, I hope they have been able to meet all you wonderful people! My husband has made amazing strides towards recovery. He is able to walk, has no noticeable weakness on his left side, if you were to meet him you most likely would never know he had a stroke. There are still small things that I see and he gets worn out easily. All in all, he is doing much better than I could have ever expected! He has to have heart surgery at the beginning of November and then he will be on the home stretch towards full recovery! I will continue to keep everyone updated!
I am glad to hear your husband is doing good. Such a bad situation which no one wants to experience, but glad to hear good news. Thanks for keeping us updated.
What wonderful news! While hubby's recovery is most important, getting the money back is definitely cause for celebration. Continued positive thoughts for a speedy recovery. =)
Your airline money will likely be recovered. We had to cancel a Temptation trip because my father in law broke his hip - he was going to watch our kids. All the airline asked for was a "doctors note" and they refunded the change fee (non-refundable portion).
