Sometimes they will help you out if you upgrade your package. A $300 room upgrade might make it happen. You can try. I have done it in the past. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Good luck with that , unless you paid a premium for the pre-ex condition, and its stated in your policy , and there will be a clause saying the condition has to be stable for a pre-existing time period before your travel.( usually 3 to 6 months, depending on the issue) taking a policy out after an accident/incident has already happen and then claim it on the insurance and hope they will pay is funny .
We had a similar experience in 2010, when our then 8 year old daughter had a stroke a week before we left. We also booked through Cheap Caribbean. We did not have insurance, but after explaining the extraordinary circumstances, we got all but a $500 refund (credit with them) that we could use when we were ready. Good luck.
Sorry to hear about the bad news. Never wish for anything like that. We book everything with or credit cards as there's built in insurance for things like this. Not to mention a whole lot of other benifits. Worth the extra few $ a year if it's needed.
I just booked our December trip yesterday. After hearing stories like this, maybe that trip insurance isn't so much after all. I also just found out today my medical insurance does NOT cover me or the spouse when traveling abroad.
call cheap caribbean...explain your situation and hopefully they will give you credit (through their 3rd party wholesaler)on a future trip...and if you don't like their answer, keep on asking for a supervisor, and so on...if you get the right person they may help. Good luck and a speedy recovery for your husband!
amen to that. I wasn't crazy about paying $150, but for 12 days worth of piece of mind if something unthinkable happens, it was worth it.
This happened to us almost 1 year ago.. we booked the same way. They were wonderful to work with. First, get a note from the hospital or his doctor. We sent that to directly to the airline and to a rep from Cheap Caribbean. (although we didn't book directly w/ the airline) A representative called TTR while I was on the phone and explained what happened. We got a full refund...then they called the airline and we received a credit for the full amount. (no $200 re-booking fees) Praying for a speedy recovery...
Sorry to hear of your circumstances and glad to know your husband is doing better. I'm writing just to say that a full recovery is quite possible - I had a stroke a year and a half ago. Initially partially paralyzed on my right side and with great difficulty stringing two sentences together. I made a remarkable and fast recovery and Unless I tell someone they would never know I had a stroke. Keep your hopes up Carlos
TTR family The spirit of "filter every thought through your heart" is echoed throughout this entire thread. The "family" of TTR party hard but they also demonstrate genuine care for each other. We join all the others thoughts to a speedy and complete recovery. Before you know it, you will be planning your next trip back "home" to TTR.
