from Canada it usually ranges anywhere from 2000.00 to 2400.00 per couple for flight and stay to TTR for a period of 1 week from Montreal, Ottawa or Toronto, but we got lucky and found a better price of 1600.00 for us both so 800.00/ea thrue redtag.ca, so we jumped on it, but i checked it out couple days later and it was already up to 1200.00/ea for exact same trip with the same flight number and everything, I still to this day don't understand how it can vary so much from one day to the next, wvery trip we take we always check every day till the price droppes and we book it right away, so far so good we always seem to get the best price but it is a gamble since it could go down even more the next day from booking and nothing you can do about it. How much is it from the US

No doesn't seem fair. Someone tried to explain it to us one night but it was pretty late lol. Had something to do with governments and trade agreements and taxes if they new what they were talking about?

You think thats not fair?? You should see DOMESTIC flights here in Canada. We spend as much to go a 1hour return local flight as we do to Mexico and back. its B-R-U-T-A-L. EH!!!!! :p

I think it basically comes down to the USA and Canada having a better standard of living (cost of living/national average annual income) than UK so have a greater expendable wealth for luxuries like cars, vacation etc. For example, fuel here costs over twice as much as USA, and I'm pretty sure our taxes are much higher too – that being said, we have a free(ish) healthcare system which is something to be grateful for.

My partner and I work hard and have good jobs, earning an income around the UK national average. I've worked that out to be about 15% below the USA national average. Majority of families over here can’t afford holidays – only those that are better off. We benefit from having no kids (double income no dependents) so our outgoing costs are less, and we can just about afford a holiday once a year. Would be a total no-go if we had a family.

If prices for holidaying were as high in UK as they are from USA/Canada then they simply wouldn't sell - nobody could afford it. Could be a simple calculation of profit…costs more because people can afford to pay? Problem here is that instead of a holiday for 2 weeks costing double what it would for 1, UK travel companies are trying to get the most out of people, so costs for 1 week are much higher compared to cost for 2 weeks to encourage people to book the higher-priced 2 week stay...similar to how single people end up paying more per person than a couple.

I think people aren't patient enough to wait for a good deal to come. You have to check the Internet cause as people have said the prices do change a lot. So when you know what week you are going just keep checking for when then have the deals on. They will eventually. We live in Vancouver but always use American sites on Internet and use American flights. We never pay more then 2000 for a minimum of a 10 days.

Patience is the key. If people booked last minute they will be paying a higher price almost guaranteed.

Oh. If Canadians use sun wing or any other charter company they will pay a lot. Not sure why people use them at all
