RE: Security -- Stacia's & my last trip in Nakify-July, for which … yes... I'm still trying to get the Trip Report concluded, was a promising trend, when I compare it to my own direct experience in March of this year.

Yes, I know that I've written about the lady security guard who, at night, was going around the beach, the pool areas, and even around the patios for the 1st floor rooms shining that Maglight into the rooms with open curtains, and into people's faces. Generally, I agree with the people who were flashed, and not in the "fun way," that was most likely not a cool experience. However, Kyle's right, open sedx has never been allowed at TTR. But, I'm sure that Kyle will agree, there's an awful lot of history about people discreetly getting things done which was "open" enough for people to notice which was very clearly being noticed and intentionally overlooked by the security staff until someone gets out of hand and then they'd do something.

WildOnes' story about her tits being licked openly at Bash was a story that, after my March visit, I'd have been surprised was allowed to take place. But, after the July trip, it easily could have happened and nothing would have taken place from a security presence standpoint.

With regards to outfits, we generally consider that, if the nipples are covered, even if it's see-through, and a G-string covers the business bits, then knock your socks off and go party. Well, I can't post the pics on here at CCC, but I'll get them up at CCS (convenient picture-posting rules difference, eh?).. we "think" that a G-string has the string thong up the back. This time, to surprise me (It worked, and was most excellent) Stacia wore a lingerie outfit with a see through front but the bottom was an illusion, the bottom didn't go completely front-to-back like a standard panty. It covered the kitty, but then the back side split and formed (looking at her from the back) like a pair of stockings and a garter belt, i.e. nothing over her crack. Yes, you could, if she was nice and posed for you, or if she was just leaning over the bar to order a drink (she was our designated shot girl that night for our entire crew, LOL!) you could see everything you would like to see in such.. um... locale.

The later it got int he evening, the more and more ladies whose tops were just plain old "off," as it was Hot at Bash, and as long as the people were in "control" and having fun, and not in danger of getting hurt somehow, security just kept in the background.

I am refreshed and renewed in my opinion that TTR IS still going to be fun-time.

It does sound that way when you read it, but that's not the way it came accross. Although it was annoying, it was done with a smile which was returned by the guard.

I thought they had been mentioned in an earlier trip report?[/QUOTE

It was and when we visited in April and August!
    ...another pendulum swing.
Actually probably more to do with which guards are on duty...or the weather, alignment of the planets, too much starch in the laundry..

I don't think there is any "swinging pendulum".

Surely none of us think that the security team have a Monday morning meeting and decide what the policy will be for the next 7 days, and then review it the following week?

I've said it many a time before, but the rules are as they have been for the last 10 years or so and haven't changed at all.

Enforcement of those rules may well be inconsistent, every situation is different and not every security guy interprets the same rules the same way as his colleague might.

    The only consistency, is inconsistency.

    @Steve

I hope your analysis is spot on wrt Monday morning meetings ( just makes no real sense) and also knowing the rules are the rules as always have been and will continue to be.

The “swinging pendulum” analogy is related to, as many of have stated, the “consistent inconsistency”.
As you also penned, we all know that different security personel interpret the rules differently and enforcement there of...human nature, nothing more....just like what we’ll determine to be too much or not enough “fun”.

We also know that the more seasoned security officers seem to allow a bit more shenanigans.
So it might depend on who is training the new security officers and how they are trained.
Maybe at first in a conference room with the rules and sliseshow and videos...like NFL referees.
And then out to the live action where they are tight at first and then loosen up with real on the job experience, especially if buddying up with an experienced security officer.
    Either way a tough job!

So depending on training, and the mix of staff from throughout the day or days maybe the inconsistency we speak of...who knows?

I don’t think, and cannot imagine, security is there to squash the fun but to keep the lid on the “ boiling” pot.
They watch it simmer and at times are ok with a litlle boil over but need to use their judgement to keep the lid on.
Sometimes more prematurely then at others.
Just like police officers watching a “peaceful” protest and attempting to assure it does not get out of hand.

I am just happy it is not my job!
Well, many would probably like it but I probably would be fired the first day.

I think there is a lot to be said for interpretation by each individual security guard and the situation that would lead to a perception of uneven enforcement. I would also suspect that certain guards working together may care less about certain things. But if the boss is working some may feel that they have to step in sooner if the boss is watching.

But as far as the meeting goes....I don't think they make a decision on what the rules will be....but I bet that type of huddle does happen. Boss stands up at the front of the room and says something like

'we've been seeing a lot of problems with sexual activity in the hot tub. We need to make sure we are acting quickly.' While the guards are hyper aware of sexual activity, they aren't focused on the guy taking pictures as much.

Next week...boss stands up and says 'weve been getting a lot of complaints about cameras, I don't want to see one camera by the pool'. Security guards spend their time correcting every little camera issue. Meanwhile subtle sexual activity is not noticed.

I'm not saying the policy changes...but I could totally see how a manager would be hyper focussed on correcting the issue dujour. Meanwhile mixed reports come into this forum because one person was annoyed by cameras (or that they couldn't use their cameras) and other reports come in about what sexual activity they got away with.

Obviously major infractions/issues get attention, but minor/subtle may get overlooked. Same thing happens everywhere. Take seatbelt laws...not wearing a seatbelt in some areas is always illegal, but cops aren'talways looking for that. If there is something else or they notice it you will get a ticket. But sometimes they do saturation patrols looking specifically for seatbelts. All because a manager decided that is the big problem to focus on, though it was always illegal.

    @Joe&Heidi
Well stated and I do agree with reaction day to day amd huddles with what they see as issues.
But probably not as a conspiracy plan...more of a reaction to keep the lid on the pot.
