Has any one successfully used Alpha rooms from North america lately ? this is hurting CDN,s a lot,, 1 USD = 1.3957 CAD + 2% exchange fee
You wont be seeing anymore deals from AR for TTR unless they get a new agreement with TTR. Not likely as TTR considered it "losing money" based on the amount of Americans booking through AR at really cheap rates in U.S. $$$. I just saw on Otel.com, April is $159.
264 @ night CDN for garden view ( april 2016) from Otel last April 2015 was $155.oo CDN ,,, thats a 70% increase year over year . we are committed to April , but may buy a sunlamp for Next fall
Arent the fees taxes and govt fees that are unavoidable? The advertised price is a little misleading, but after adding the taxes, etc..., its still the same price in April as a referral. You never know. Alpharooms had crappy reviews, and we used them 4 times with no issues. Buyer beware.
Alpha rooms was always a good choice , they were just really hard to get a hold of , a lot of people on here complaining about that. Alpha rooms has different prices now if you pay in USD versus pounds ,, a lot higher. Need a UK passport to sign in, has been quoted. Depending on the week and room category Referrals are now a lot more competitive with the higher prices from travel agents , add the upgrades and thats why we went with the referral. Just don't like/understand the two tir price structure.
I don't understand why resort rates are such a complex business arrangement, but there are layers and layers of people between my wallet and the bank account of Mr. Cancun and they all want to try to slice off a piece of his action.
