Mrs. Dreamers here. We agree and embrace singles without a bunch of cautions. I agree that groups of singles aren't pursuing all the wives. They paid for their vacay as did the couples, so we hope they enjoy their holiday too...cheers!
TTR is boring. We come here 2-3 times a year to get away from it all and just relax and read a few good books. There's not much going on here except in the evenings when the bingo gets in full swing. There are other resorts in Cancun for wild partying and debauchery, but not here!!
Of course you are going to get a positive response when you post a question like that on a forum dedicated to people who go there (especially those who go again and again.) There are people who went once and while they had a nice time they will never return. Those people do not spend their time returning to the website of a past vacation. We have done many different kinds of trips but continue to return "home" to TTR. Great service, great people, and a great chance to enjoy ourselves mean that for us it really is a great experience.
I'd say it really is that good. I've never been to any other all inclusive resorts but I know when I'm on to a good thing. Yeah the food, drinks, entertainment, rooms etc. might be better elsewhere but I know I'd be constantly comparing any other resort to TTR and I'm not willing yet to take that chance. I know I get the vacation I'm looking for at TTR. I won't get defensive about the place though. It's not for everyone. Some go, realise it's not what they were expecting and never return. You just have to bear in mind 97% of posts on the TTR page of the Cancuncare forum are by repeaters that approve of the concept. The other 3% is by people just like you, newbies asking questions and determining if it is for them (I was once in that category too). After they've been they either stick around and become a repeater or are never heard of again. By the way, just my opinion, if you're planning on partying with the Cancuncare crowd at the resort, put a profile picture up. It's hard to not think someone is trolling without one - the whole 'remaining anonymous' vibe makes some folk wary. Every so often someone will prowl on here, ask progressively sexually-oriented questions or make crude remarks and they never put a profile picture up. What you do and say on here is remembered and affects how others from the forum relate to you at the resort. If you're not particularly bothered about meeting people from on here then no foul, but at the resort, you can't blame people for being wary of anyone wanting to remain anonymous online.
MacAttack, we´ve been there 3 times and already booked the 4th for next june. We wish we could go there every 3 months. That´s how much fun it is.
