Little late to the thread. I do a fair bit of photography, including the odd fun shoot. If you're not familiar with doing makeup for a photoshoot consider their hair and makeup person, or give it a Google. Some styles can look very different to a camera, especially if strobes (flash) are used. Have a great time with your shoot. I've seen some amazing pictures with Provoke. They're very good.
I think it's always a good idea to invest in professional hair and make-up for a photo shoot, especially if you want to look your best in the pictures. It's always a good idea to inquire about the cost beforehand so you have a better understanding of what you'll be paying for. As for the cost, I would suggest reaching out to Provoke Photography directly for an accurate estimate. You could also consider reaching out to local esthetician schools as they may have students available to provide hair and make-up services at a lower cost. It's worth exploring all your options before making a final decision.
If you are planning to do a serious shoot, it is worth the hair and makeup. They know how to make you look stunning and for my wife it was a wonderful experience just having that done
