Well sorry to tell you this.... But Chlorine Level means nothing... so leave your home test kits at home. You could have a huge amount of chlorine and it would mean nothing if the pH is off or the alkalinity is way of or cyanuric acid levels are too high or even chloramine is way high.

Urine and sweat are chemically very similar and the sweat in the pool is much higher than urine... so is the pool mostly clear?... yep! Does it mean anything? Nope! Is it dirtier than the pool in in backyard or down the street? Nope! Having been a certified pool operator for over 10 years I seldom think about these things anymore. I'm certainly not traveling with a test kit. Not knowing is nice.... :) make sure you take a shower after getting out of the pool and use lotion. Or just don't get in...

There is an outdoor shower at the far end leading to the ocean ( both side actually )

there,s a reason why the night pool parties are at the sports pool, the water is so ''Crud'',,, murky at the sexy pool , by the evening they would have to shut the lights off for any one to go into that sess pool . ( mostly just suntan lotion ).

It needs time to filter for the next day of fun and games.

jUst don't drink the water :(

Yes in all seriousness an itchy rash is terrible! As some said above if you have sensitive skin be sure to bring hydrocortisone creme or spray! Top that with. Sunburn! Ouch!

Actually the amount of spilled alcohol in the pool might be the problem. But that will help germs!

I know a lot of advice has been posted...but have you tried preventative? Take a benadryl before getting in....see how that works
